Job Summary: We are seeking a certified and vigilant Swimming Lifeguard to oversee the safety of swimmers and visitors at our swimming facility. The Lifeguard will be responsible for enforcing pool regulations, preventing accidents, responding to emergencies, and ensuring a safe and enjoyable environment for all pool users.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain constant surveillance of the swimming pool and surrounding area to prevent accidents.
- Identify potential hazards and enforce safety rules to ensure the well-being of all swimmers.
- Respond swiftly to emergencies and perform rescues when necessary.
- Provide first aid, CPR, or other lifesaving procedures in case of injuries or drowning incidents.
- Assist distressed swimmers and ensure their safe return to the pool deck.
- Report all incidents and accidents promptly, completing required documentation.
- Monitor water quality by testing chlorine and pH levels as per safety guidelines.
- Ensure all safety equipment (life rings, first aid kits, etc.) is available, functional, and in the designated locations.
- Educate and enforce pool regulations to ensure swimmer compliance.
- Communicate effectively with swimmers, parents, and staff, providing safety instructions when needed.
- Attend regular lifeguard training and safety drills.
Qualifications:
- Lifeguard Certification (Red Cross/NSRC/NLS/Other recognized certification).
- CPR and First Aid Certification (mandatory).
- Prior experience as a Lifeguard (preferred but not mandatory).
- Strong swimming skills with the ability to perform water rescues.
- Excellent observational and decision-making skills.
- Ability to remain calm and react efficiently under stressful situations.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills to interact with swimmers of all ages.
- Physical fitness to perform lifesaving duties effectively.
Work Schedule:
- Flexible shifts including mornings, evenings & weekends
- May involve extended hours during peak seasons or special events.
