We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Advocate to assist with legal research, drafting, case preparation, court appearances, and day-to-day matters. The ideal candidate should have strong legal knowledge, excellent drafting and communication skills, and a willingness to learn and take responsibility for assigned matters.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct legal research on applicable laws, judgments, regulations, and legal procedures.
- Assist in preparing and drafting legal notices, petitions, applications, replies, written statements, affidavits, agreements, and other legal documents.
- Attend court proceedings and assist with filing, mentioning, hearings, and follow-ups.
- Prepare case briefs, chronologies, lists of documents, and notes for arguments.
- Maintain case files, records, hearing dates, and other litigation-related documentation.
- Coordinate with clients, court staff, advocates, and other legal professionals as required.
- Monitor case status and ensure timely completion of filings and procedural requirements.
- Perform other legal and administrative duties assigned by senior advocates or the firm.
Required Qualifications
- LL.B. degree from a recognised university.
- Enrolment with the State Bar Council.
- Valid Certificate of Practice (COP), where applicable.
- 0–2 years of relevant litigation/legal experience.
- Proficiency in MS Office and online legal research databases.
