Job Description – Senior Accountant (Jewellery Manufacturing)

Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to manage the company's accounting operations, financial reporting, taxation, statutory compliance, and inventory accounting within a jewellery manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate should possess strong knowledge of manufacturing accounting, GST, TDS, inventory valuation, and financial controls, with the ability to work independently and support business decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Accounting
- Maintain books of accounts in compliance with applicable accounting standards.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Perform ledger scrutiny, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
- Ensure accurate recording of all financial transactions.
- Monitor cash flow, bank reconciliations, and fund management.
Manufacturing & Inventory Accounting
- Maintain accounting records for gold, diamond, precious stones, and other raw materials.
- Monitor manufacturing costs, job work accounting, wastage, recovery, and stock reconciliation.
- Verify inventory valuation in accordance with accounting policies.
- Coordinate with production, stores, and procurement teams for inventory control.
- Reconcile physical stock with book records.
Taxation & Statutory Compliance
- Prepare and file GST returns (GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, Annual Return, and Reconciliation).
- Ensure timely deduction and deposit of TDS and filing of TDS returns.
- Handle Income Tax, Professional Tax, and other statutory compliances.
- Coordinate with auditors, tax consultants, and government authorities.
- Ensure compliance with applicable financial and taxation laws.
Accounts Payable & Receivable
- Verify vendor invoices and process payments.
- Monitor customer receivables and follow up for collections.
- Prepare ageing analysis of debtors and creditors.
- Resolve accounting discrepancies with vendors and customers.
MIS & Reporting
- Prepare monthly MIS reports for management.
- Analyse manufacturing costs, profitability, and operational expenses.
- Prepare budget variance reports and financial analysis.
- Support management in strategic financial planning.
Audit & Internal Controls
- Coordinate statutory, internal, GST, and tax audits.
- Maintain documentation for audit requirements.
- Implement internal financial controls and process improvements.
- Ensure adherence to company policies and accounting procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Commerce (B.Com).
- CA Inter / CMA Inter / M.Com preferred.
- Additional certification in GST or Taxation will be an advantage.
Experience
- 5–8 years of relevant experience in accounting and finance.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in the Jewellery Manufacturing industry preferred.
- Experience in manufacturing accounting and inventory management is mandatory.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of GST, TDS, Income Tax, and statutory compliance.
- Expertise in manufacturing and inventory accounting.
- Knowledge of costing, stock reconciliation, and financial reporting.

Software Knowledge
- Buzy / Tally Prime / ERP Software
- Microsoft Excel (Advanced – Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, Power Query preferred)
- Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience with ERP systems such as SAP Business One, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar will be an added advantage.

Preferred Candidate Profile
- Experience in jewellery manufacturing, bullion, diamond, or precious metals industry.
- Sound understanding of gold accounting, metal reconciliation, and inventory controls.
- Ability to coordinate with production, stores, procurement, and management teams.
- Strong knowledge of statutory compliances applicable to manufacturing companies.
- Capable of handling audits and interacting with external consultants independently.

Compensation Salary: As per Experience.
