Summary
As a Pega Tester, a typical day involves designing, planning, and executing test strategies to ensure the quality, functionality, and performance of Pega-based applications. The role requires close collaboration with Pega developers, business analysts, product owners, and other cross-functional teams to understand requirements and ensure that solutions meet business and technical expectations. The work environment encourages the use of Agile methodologies and modern testing practices to deliver high-quality software solutions. Throughout the day, the tester focuses on test planning, test case design, execution, defect identification, troubleshooting, and validation of fixes while actively participating in discussions to align testing efforts with project and organizational goals.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Expected to be an SME in Pega testing and collaborate with multiple teams to ensure effective testing and quality assurance.
- Responsible for planning and executing testing activities across Pega applications and solutions.
- Analyze business and technical requirements and prepare comprehensive test scenarios and test cases.
- Perform functional, integration, regression, system, and end-to-end testing of Pega applications.
- Validate Pega workflows, case management, business rules, integrations, data flows, and user interfaces.
- Identify, document, track, and manage defects using appropriate defect management tools.
- Collaborate with Pega developers and business teams to investigate issues and ensure timely resolution of defects.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, backlog refinement, and retrospectives.
- Provide solutions to testing challenges and contribute to quality improvements across multiple teams.
- Lead efforts to identify and implement process improvements that enhance testing efficiency, team productivity, and software quality.
- Mentor junior testers and support their professional growth and integration within project workflows.
- Ensure testing activities align with project timelines, quality standards, and business requirements.
Professional & Technical Skills
- Must To Have Skills: Proficiency in Pega Platform testing.
- Strong experience in testing Pega applications and validating end-to-end business processes.
- Strong understanding of Pega case management, workflows, business rules, and application functionality.
- Experience in designing and executing functional, integration, regression, system, and end-to-end test cases.
- Skilled in defect identification, reporting, tracking, and troubleshooting complex application issues.
- Experience working with Agile development and testing methodologies.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with Pega developers, business analysts, product owners, and cross-functional teams.
- Experience with test management and defect tracking tools.
- Good understanding of database validation and SQL queries for data verification.
- Experience in API and integration testing is preferred.
- Knowledge of Pega testing tools and automation frameworks is an added advantage.
- Competence in analyzing test results and ensuring application quality, performance, and scalability.
