Senior Captain (Restaurant) Reports To: Restaurant Manager / Assistant Restaurant Manager Department: Food & Beverage (F&B) Service Position Type: Full-time, Shift-based Job Summary The Senior Captain is responsible for supervising daily dining room operations, maintaining high hospitality standards, and leading a team of captains, stewards (waiters), and runners. They act as a vital bridge between the guests, the FOH team, and the kitchen, ensuring exceptional guest satisfaction, smooth workflow, and maximized sales through upselling. Key Responsibilities Shift Supervision & Floor Operations: Oversee the assigned dining section or the entire floor during a shift. Ensure tables are properly set, clean, and compliant with hygiene and food safety standards before service begins. Guest Relations & Service Excellence: Welcome and seat guests warmly. Take accurate food and beverage orders, explain menu items confidently, and handle special dietary requests or allergies with absolute care. Team Leadership & Mentorship: Supervise, guide, and delegate duties to junior service staff. Monitor their grooming, performance, and adherence to the restaurant’s Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Assist with onboarding and training new hires. Issue Resolution: Act as the first line of defense for customer complaints. Handle complaints professionally, listen patiently, and resolve issues promptly to turn a negative experience into a positive one. Kitchen & Bar Coordination: Coordinate directly with the kitchen and bar teams to ensure that orders are prepared correctly and served efficiently without unnecessary delays. Billing & Table Management: Manage reservations, organize seating layouts during peak hours, handle billing transactions accurately, and properly close out checks at the end of a shift. Upselling & Revenue Growth: Actively recommend daily specials, high-margin menu items, and drink pairings to elevate the guest experience and increase average check sizes.
Pay: ₹18,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
