Job Summary
The Electric Vehicle (EV) Hardware Lab Trainer is responsible for planning, conducting, and supervising practical laboratory sessions related to Electric Vehicle technologies. The trainer will provide hands-on training on EV components, battery systems, power electronics, motor drives, charging infrastructure, vehicle diagnostics, and safety practices while ensuring proper maintenance of laboratory equipment and supporting research, innovation, and industry collaboration.
Key Responsibilities1. Laboratory Training
- Conduct practical sessions on EV hardware systems.
- Demonstrate assembly and disassembly of EV components.
- Train students on electric drivetrain architecture.
- Explain the working principles of EV subsystems using practical demonstrations.
- Develop competency-based practical exercises and assessments.
2. Battery Technology Training
- Train students on Lithium-ion battery technologies.
- Demonstrate Battery Management System (BMS) operation.
- Conduct battery testing, balancing, and health monitoring.
- Explain battery charging, discharging, and thermal management.
- Guide safe battery handling, storage, and disposal procedures.
3. EV Power Electronics
- Train students on:
- DC-DC Converters
- AC-DC Chargers
- Inverters
- Rectifiers
- Motor Controllers
- Power Modules
- Demonstrate testing using laboratory instruments.
- Troubleshoot power electronic circuits.
4. Electric Motor & Drive Systems
- Demonstrate:

- Train students on:
- Motor controller programming
- Speed control
- Torque measurement
- Regenerative braking concepts
5. Charging Infrastructure
- Demonstrate AC and DC charging systems.
- Explain EV charging standards (e.g., CCS, CHAdeMO, Type 2, GB/T as applicable).
- Train students on charging station installation and operation.
- Conduct charging system diagnostics and troubleshooting.
6. Vehicle Diagnostics
- Train students using EV diagnostic tools and software.
- Demonstrate CAN Bus communication and fault diagnosis.
- Analyze Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs).
- Perform preventive maintenance and troubleshooting.
7. Laboratory Equipment Management
- Maintain EV trainers, battery packs, motors, controllers, chargers, and testing equipment.
- Perform preventive maintenance.
- Coordinate equipment calibration and servicing.
- Ensure proper storage and handling of tools and components.
8. Research & Development
- Support student innovation projects.
- Mentor capstone and prototype development.
- Assist faculty in funded research projects.
- Develop proof-of-concept EV systems.
- Participate in patent, publication, and product development activities.
9. Industry Collaboration
- Coordinate industrial visits.
- Support internships and live industry projects.
- Organize expert lectures, workshops, FDPs, EDPs, and certification programs.
- Maintain relationships with EV manufacturers and technology partners.
10. Documentation
Maintain:
- Laboratory attendance records
- Practical assessment records
- Equipment maintenance logs
- Inventory registers
- Calibration records
- Safety inspection reports
- Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)

11. Safety & Compliance
- Enforce high-voltage electrical safety procedures.

- Follow fire safety protocols for lithium-ion batteries.
- Ensure compliance with institutional and industry safety standards.
