Purpose of Job:
The ELK Backend Engineer is responsible to enhance the monitoring of the Business-Critical applications of the enterprise and align with the standards and policies defined by the Enterprise Tools and CSI department.
An ELK Backend Engineer is a specialist who uses data to monitor and improve the performance, reliability, and security of infrastructure and services. They design and implement observability solutions using various tools and frameworks.
Academics:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
Certifications (preferred):
- Elastic Certified Engineer
- Elastic Certified Observability Engineer
Job knowledge, skills & experience:
- Overall 3+ years of experience working within a large enterprise consisting of large and diverse teams.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience on APM and Monitoring technologies
- Minimum of 2 years of experience on ELK
- An ELK Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana Lead is responsible for managing and optimizing the ELK stack to ensure efficient data processing, storage, and visualization.
- Team Leadership Lead and mentor a team of ELK engineers and administrators.
- ELK Stack Management Oversee the installation, configuration, and maintenance of the ELK stack.
- Data Integration Design and implement data ingestion pipelines using Logstash or other tools.
- Monitoring and Troubleshooting Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure high availability and reliability of the ELK stack.
- Security Implement security best practices to protect data and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
- Collaboration Work closely with other teams to understand their data needs and provide solutions using the ELK stack.
- Documentation Maintain comprehensive documentation of the ELK stack configurations, processes, and procedures.
- Familiarity with Service now, Confluence and JIRA.
- Understand SRE and DevOps principles
