Medical Doctor – Telemedicine & Online Prescribing

About the Role
We are looking for qualified and registered Medical Doctors to join our online healthcare platform.
The doctor will review patients' medical information and consultation questionnaires, conduct further consultation where clinically required, and make an independent clinical decision on whether treatment is appropriate.
The role is primarily digital and can be performed remotely. Doctors will work through our online clinical platform and support patients seeking treatment across a range of common healthcare conditions.
Key Responsibilities
- Review online patient consultation questionnaires, medical history, current medications, allergies and other relevant clinical information.
- Assess whether the requested treatment is clinically appropriate for the patient.
- Approve, decline or recommend an alternative treatment based on clinical judgement.
- Issue prescriptions/e-prescriptions where treatment is appropriate and legally permitted.
- Contact patients by telephone, video consultation or messaging where additional information or clarification is required.
- Identify patients who require further clinical assessment and refer them to an appropriate healthcare professional or in-person service where necessary.
- Review potential contraindications, drug interactions, dosage suitability and relevant risk factors before prescribing.
- Provide appropriate treatment instructions, precautions and follow-up advice.
- Maintain accurate and complete electronic clinical records.
- Respond to clinical queries raised by patients, pharmacists or the operations team.
- Work closely with pharmacists and the clinical operations team to ensure prescriptions are processed safely and efficiently.
- Escalate safeguarding concerns, adverse events or other significant clinical issues according to company procedures.
- Follow applicable telemedicine, prescribing, professional and patient-safety requirements.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and appropriate standards of data protection at all times.
Clinical Workflow
A typical consultation will involve:
Patient submits order/request → Patient completes medical questionnaire → Doctor reviews consultation → Additional information requested if required → Doctor approves or declines treatment → E-prescription generated → Pharmacy dispensing and dispatch
Doctors must make prescribing decisions independently based on the information available and should request further consultation whenever there is insufficient information to prescribe safely.
Candidate Requirements
- MBBS or equivalent recognised medical qualification.
- Valid medical registration with the appropriate medical council/regulatory authority.
- Legally eligible to practise medicine and prescribe within the jurisdiction in which patients are being treated.
- Good understanding of prescribing, contraindications, drug interactions and patient safety.
- Comfortable conducting consultations remotely by telephone, video and digital messaging.
- Good written and spoken English.
- Strong clinical judgement and attention to detail.
- Comfortable working with electronic patient records and online healthcare systems.
Preferred Experience
Experience in one or more of the following would be advantageous:
- Telemedicine or online healthcare.
- General practice / primary care.
- Sexual health.
- Men's or women's health.
- Dermatology and hair-loss treatment.
- Weight management.
- Chronic disease management.
- Private healthcare or digital-health platforms.
Previous online prescribing experience is helpful but not essential.
Working Arrangement
The role can be structured as:
- Full-time
- Part-time
- Evening/weekend shifts
- Flexible remote sessions
- Per-consultation arrangement
Doctors will be provided access to the company's clinical platform, where consultations requiring review will be assigned or made available.
What We Are Looking For
We are particularly interested in doctors who are comfortable with technology and who can balance efficient digital consultations with high standards of clinical care.
This is not an automatic prescription-approval role. Doctors are expected to exercise independent clinical judgement and prescribe only where they believe treatment is clinically appropriate and safe.
Compensation
Competitive salary or per-consultation compensation depending on experience, availability and working arrangement.
Pay: ₹32,107.87 - ₹40,000.00 per month
