Job Title: Wire Drawing Machine Operator
Department: Production
Reports To: Production Supervisor / Shift In-Charge
Experience: 1–3 years preferred
Qualification: ITI Fitter, or related technical trade preferred
Job Summary
Responsible for setting up, operating, monitoring, and maintaining wire drawing machines to produce wire of the required diameter, shape, and quality as per production specifications. The operator must ensure safe machine operation, product quality, minimum wastage, and achievement of daily production targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate wire drawing machines according to production plans and work instructions.
- Select and install the correct dies, guides, rollers, and related tooling as per wire specifications.
- Load wire rods/coils and properly thread the wire through the drawing machine.
- Adjust machine speed, tension, lubrication, and other operating parameters.
- Monitor machine operation continuously and identify abnormalities, wire breakage, vibration, overheating, or other defects.
- Check wire diameter, surface finish, roundness, and other quality parameters using micrometers, vernier calipers, gauges, and other measuring instruments.
- Replace dies and make necessary adjustments when required to maintain product specifications.
- Troubleshoot minor machine and process problems and report major breakdowns to the maintenance team.
- Carry out routine cleaning, lubrication, and basic preventive maintenance of the machine.
- Record production quantity, wire size, material consumption, rejection, downtime, and quality results.
- Ensure proper handling, identification, and storage of finished wire and scrap material.
- Follow all safety procedures, PPE requirements, and company SOPs.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Coordinate with Production, Quality, and Maintenance teams to achieve production and quality targets.
Required Skills
- Practical knowledge of wire drawing machine operation and setup.
- Knowledge of dies, wire sizes, drawing sequence, and basic drawing process parameters.
- Ability to use micrometer, vernier caliper, and measuring gauges.
- Basic mechanical troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to read production/work instructions and specifications.
- Good attention to detail and quality awareness.
- Knowledge of industrial safety practices.
- Ability to work in shifts and meet production targets.

Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹20,000.00 per month
