We are seeking an experienced and result-oriented Fleet Manager to oversee our commercial vehicle fleet operations. The candidate should possess strong technical knowledge of trucks and transportation equipment, ensure maximum fleet utilization, manage vehicle maintenance and compliance, and actively generate cargo business from the open market whenever required to supplement existing customer volumes.
The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in fleet management, transporter operations, freight markets, and customer development within the logistics and transportation industry.
Key ResponsibilitiesFleet Operations Management
- Manage day-to-day operations of the company's fleet of commercial vehicles.
- Ensure optimum fleet utilization and vehicle availability.
- Monitor vehicle movement, route performance, and turnaround time.
- Coordinate with drivers, vendors, workshops, and customers to ensure smooth operations.
- Minimize vehicle downtime through proactive maintenance planning.
Technical & Maintenance Management
- Possess strong technical knowledge of commercial trucks, trailers, and transportation equipment.
- Diagnose operational and maintenance issues and coordinate timely repairs.
- Monitor fuel efficiency, tyre performance, breakdowns, and maintenance costs.
- Develop preventive maintenance schedules and ensure compliance.
- Maintain records of vehicle servicing, insurance, permits, fitness certificates, and regulatory documentation.
Business Development & Freight Generation
- Generate cargo and freight business from the open market whenever fleet capacity is available.
- Develop relationships with manufacturers, traders, freight brokers, transporters, and logistics companies.
- Identify profitable freight opportunities across India.
- Negotiate freight rates and ensure profitable vehicle deployment.
- Support business growth by acquiring new customers and transportation contracts.
Cost Control & Profitability
- Monitor trip profitability and operating costs.
- Optimize fuel consumption and route planning.
- Control maintenance, tyre, toll, and operational expenses.
- Improve fleet productivity and revenue generation.
Team Management
- Supervise drivers, fleet supervisors, and operational staff.
- Ensure adherence to company policies and safety standards.
- Conduct driver performance reviews and training programs.
Compliance & Safety
- Ensure compliance with transport regulations, permits, insurance, road tax, and statutory requirements.
- Promote safe driving practices and accident prevention measures.
- Investigate accidents, breakdowns, and operational incidents.
Desired Candidate ProfileQualifications
- Graduate / Diploma
- Relevant certifications in Fleet Management will be an added advantage.
Experience
- 5–10 years of experience in fleet operations, transportation, logistics, or trucking industry.
- Proven experience managing commercial vehicle fleets.
- Existing network in freight markets and transport industry preferred.
Skills Required
- Strong technical knowledge of commercial trucks and vehicle maintenance.
- Understanding of freight markets and cargo generation.
- Excellent negotiation and customer relationship skills.
- Ability to identify profitable transportation opportunities.

Compensation
Competitive salary with performance-based incentives linked to fleet utilization, profitability, and cargo generation.
Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
