Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Deputy Manager – NVOCC Pricing to lead ocean freight pricing and procurement activities while supporting the Sales team with competitive and profitable quotations. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in NVOCC, Freight Forwarding, or Shipping Line Pricing, with strong expertise in ocean freight pricing, carrier negotiations, trade lane management, and international logistics.
Key Responsibilities
Pricing & Commercial
- Procure competitive ocean freight rates from shipping lines, NVOCC partners, co-loaders, and overseas agents.
- Prepare accurate and competitive quotations for FCL, LCL, Breakbulk, ODC, and other special cargo shipments.
- Develop, maintain, and optimize pricing across key import and export trade lanes.
- Monitor freight market trends, carrier capacity, rate fluctuations, and competitor pricing to ensure market competitiveness.
- Ensure pricing accuracy while maintaining target profit margins and business objectives.
Carrier & Vendor Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with shipping lines, NVOCC partners, co-loaders, overseas agents, and logistics service providers.
- Negotiate freight rates, free time, detention, demurrage, and other commercial terms to maximize profitability.
- Evaluate carrier performance, transit times, service quality, and recommend the most suitable routing options.
- Maintain vendor agreements, contracts, tariff sheets, and commercial rate databases.
Sales & Business Support
- Provide timely pricing support for RFQs, tenders, contract bids, and spot enquiries.
- Work closely with Sales, Operations, Customer Service, Finance, and Overseas Offices to develop commercially viable pricing solutions.
- Support business development initiatives by providing competitive pricing strategies and market intelligence.
Reporting & Coordination
- Maintain updated tariff sheets, pricing records, and freight rate databases.
- Prepare pricing analysis, profitability reports, market intelligence reports, and management MIS.
- Coordinate with Operations, Customer Service, Finance, and overseas partners to ensure seamless execution of shipments.
- Mentor and guide junior pricing executives while ensuring adherence to company pricing policies, SOPs, and commercial guidelines.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 5–8 years of experience in NVOCC, Freight Forwarding, or Shipping Line Pricing.
- Strong knowledge of Ocean Freight Pricing, including FCL, LCL, Import & Export operations.
- Proven expertise in freight procurement, carrier negotiations, commercial pricing, and vendor management.
- Good understanding of shipping lines, global trade lanes, Incoterms, customs procedures, and international logistics.
- Strong analytical, commercial, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Experience with CargoWise, ERP, TMS, SAP, or any freight forwarding software will be an added advantage.
Preferred Candidate Profile
- Experience handling major international trade lanes such as Far East, Europe, USA, Middle East, Africa, ISC (Indian Subcontinent), Southeast Asia, and Australia.
- Strong professional network with shipping lines, overseas agents, NVOCCs, and logistics partners.
- Proven ability to negotiate commercial terms and secure competitive freight rates.
- Experience in managing key customer RFQs, annual tenders, and strategic pricing projects.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, target-driven environment while maintaining high levels of accuracy and commercial profitability.
- Leadership experience in mentoring or managing pricing team members will be an added advantage.
Pay: ₹800,000.00 - ₹1,000,000.00 per year
