We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Specialist in System Management with a strong focus on Oracle Database Administration. This role involves managing, maintaining, and optimizing complex Oracle database environments to ensure high performance, availability, and security. The ideal candidate will possess deep technical expertise and a proactive approach to database management.
Job Description:
1. Administer and maintain Oracle databases, ensuring optimal performance, availability, and integrity.
2. Perform database installation, configuration, upgrades, and patching across various server environments.
3. Monitor Oracle database health, perform performance tuning, and optimize complex queries to enhance system efficiency.
4. Manage comprehensive backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies for critical Oracle database systems.
5. Implement robust security policies and manage user permissions to protect sensitive data and ensure confidentiality.
6. Collaborate effectively with development, infrastructure, and application teams to support database-related needs and deployments.
7. Develop and maintain thorough database documentation, including configurations, operational procedures, and best practice standards.
8. Stay abreast of the latest Oracle database technologies, tools, and industry best practices to recommend and implement continuous improvements.
9. Troubleshoot and resolve complex database issues, providing expert-level support and guidance.
10. Participate in capacity planning and resource management to support future growth and demand.
Key Responsibilities:
Act as a senior escalation point for complex Oracle database administration issues, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
Perform proactive monitoring, analysis, and troubleshooting of Oracle database systems to prevent downtime and performance bottlenecks.
Lead and execute database migration, replication, and integration projects involving Oracle technologies.
Conduct in-depth capacity planning and performance tuning initiatives to meet evolving business demands and optimize resource utilization.
Mentor and guide junior database administrators, fostering skill development and enhancing overall team capabilities and knowledge.
Ensure strict compliance with organizational and regulatory policies pertaining to Oracle database management and data governance.
Coordinate closely with IT security teams to enforce database security protocols, conduct audits, and address vulnerabilities.
Actively participate in disaster recovery planning, testing, and execution to ensure business continuity for critical Oracle systems.
Develop and implement automation scripts and tools to streamline routine database administration tasks.
Manage database storage, memory, and network configurations for optimal Oracle performance.
Skills and Qualifications:
Mandatory Skills: Oracle DB Administration (7-11 years of experience)
Extensive experience with Oracle Database versions (e.g., 11g, 12c, 18c, 19c, 21c).
Proficiency in Oracle Real Application Clusters (RAC), Data Guard, and Automatic Storage Management (ASM).
Strong expertise in performance tuning, SQL optimization, and database diagnostics.
Solid understanding of database security best practices and implementation.
Experience with backup and recovery tools and strategies (RMAN).
Familiarity with Linux/Unix operating systems for Oracle database environments.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
