Manages the library, teaches information literacy, fosters reading, and supports the curriculum by helping students and teachers find, evaluate, and use resources.
Handling library administration, technology integration, and creating a welcoming learning environment for all students.
Responsibilities
- Manage the school library’s resources and monitor their usage
- Select, acquire and catalogue print, audio-visual and electronic resources to meet curricular and personal needs of students and staff
- Develop and deliver library and information skills programs
- Assist students and staff in finding and using library resources
- Plan and host library-related events and activities, such as book fairs and literacy programs
- Create a welcoming and supportive learning environment within the library
- Collaborate with teachers to support their course materials and integrate literacy instruction
- Monitor library budgets and resources
- Stay informed about current literature and library trends
