An electrician has to perform various tasks while working on projects related to digital systems, signal processing and power systems.

Roles and Responsibilities:
- Panel Wiring and Assembly:
- Carry out wiring, termination, and assembly of electrical control panels as per drawings and circuit diagrams.
- Ensure proper labelling, ferruling, and cable management in panels.
- Installation and Commissioning:
- Install electrical panels, control systems, and related equipment on the shop floor.
- Assist in testing and commissioning of electrical systems to ensure proper functioning.
- Maintenance and Troubleshooting:
- Perform routine inspection and preventive maintenance of electrical panels and machinery.
- Diagnose and repair faults in control circuits, motors, relays, contactors, and PLC panels.
- Safety and Compliance:
- Follow all electrical safety standards, company policies, and statutory norms while performing work.
- Ensure all panels are earthed and protected as per electrical safety guidelines.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain daily maintenance logs and record of panel testing, repairs, and component replacements.
- Report electrical issues or breakdowns to the maintenance supervisor or engineer.
- Coordination and Support:
- Coordinate with the maintenance and production teams to minimize downtime.
- Assist engineers during electrical system upgrades or new installations.
- Inventory and Material Handling:
- Ensure availability of necessary electrical components like relays, fuses, contactors, and cables.
- Support in material requisition and stock maintenance for panel-related work.
