Responsible for sourcing goods and services requiring application of advanced purchasing principles, theories and concepts. Prepares, negotiates, issues, and manages agreements to minimize risk, reduce costs, and ensure best value continuity of supply.
Define and implement Category/Commodity Strategies to minimize risk, reduce costs, and ensure best value continuity of supply. Includes spend aggregation, and supplier consolidation, rationalization, and segmentation.
Should costing / Zero Base costing for Every Projects prior to award to the suppliers.
Execute RFQ process: prepare RFQs, evaluate quotes, compare should-cost models, and recommend suppliers.
Manage supplier onboarding: coordinate vendor registration, NDA, PPAP requirements, and initial audits
Supplier development & quality support: coordinate supplier capability assessments, CAPA follow-up, and day‑to‑day QA interactions (ISIR, PPAP witness).
Negotiate Strategic Agreements that accurately reflect price, schedule, terms, and conditions.
Focal point within the assigned Category for supplier performance risk escalation.
Leverage and manage supplier relationships to create a competitive advantage. Works with suppliers on Continuous Improvement and cost reduction initiatives.
Maintains in-depth knowledge of market conditions and industry trends related to assigned Category.
Identifies and develops alternate sources of supply. Conducts supplier site visits and evaluates capabilities. May complete supplier certification as part of a technical and/or quality team.
Applies Continuous Improvement techniques to internal procurement processes and systems to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
Ensures all key stakeholders are actively involved in the solicitation, negotiation, and award process.
Mentors and trains new team members as needed. Actively participates in High Performance Teams to improve value stream performance
