Job Objective:
To design, develop, and support instrumentation and control systems for Cryogenic Storage Tanks, LNG Systems, Vaporizers, Regasification Systems, Micro Bulk Installations, Vacuum Insulated Piping, and other cryogenic process equipment while ensuring compliance with project specifications, applicable codes, safety requirements, and customer expectations.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Prepare instrument datasheets, instrument specifications, instrument index, cable schedules, and I/O lists for cryogenic and LNG projects.
- Design and develop instrumentation and control architecture for cryogenic storage, transfer, regasification, and process systems.
- Prepare P&IDs, hook-up drawings, loop diagrams, JB layouts, cable routing layouts, and instrumentation drawings.
- Selection and sizing of field instruments including Pressure, Temperature, Flow, Level Transmitters, Control Valves, Safety Devices, and associated instrumentation.
- Coordinate with process, mechanical, electrical, and project teams during engineering and execution stages.
- Review customer specifications, technical requirements, and project documentation.
- Support PLC, SCADA, DCS, and automation integration activities for cryogenic systems.
- Participate in HAZOP, risk assessments, design reviews, and customer technical discussions.
- Prepare technical documentation and support inspection, testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting activities.
- Ensure compliance with applicable standards, codes, and industry best practices.
- Provide technical support during manufacturing, installation, commissioning, and after-sales stages.
- Coordinate with vendors for technical evaluation, selection, and procurement of instrumentation items.
Qualifications
- B.E. / B.Tech in Instrumentation Engineering, Electronics & Instrumentation, Instrumentation & Control Engineering, Electrical & Instrumentation Engineering, or equivalent.
Experience & Skills
- 3 to 8 years of experience in Instrumentation Design Engineering.
- Experience in Cryogenic Systems, LNG Plants, Industrial Gas Systems, Process Plants, Oil & Gas, EPC Projects, or Capital Equipment industry preferred.
- Strong knowledge of smart instruments including Pressure, Temperature, Flow, and Level measurement systems.
- Familiarity with PLC, DCS, SCADA, and industrial automation systems such as Siemens, ABB, Yokogawa, Honeywell, Schneider, etc.
- Experience in preparation and review of P&IDs, Instrument Datasheets, Hook-up Drawings, Loop Drawings, and Control Philosophy documents.
- Knowledge of communication protocols such as Modbus, Profibus, HART, Ethernet/IP, and related industrial networks.
- Understanding of hazardous area classification, intrinsically safe systems, and instrumentation installation practices.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Office, and engineering documentation tools.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and coordination skills.
