Job Summary
We are hiring Software Engineers with 2 or more years of experience to work on integration projects involving VARStreet and third-party business systems.
The role primarily involves developing, testing, troubleshooting, and supporting integrations with ERP, accounting, CRM, PSA, procurement, eCommerce, and other enterprise applications using REST APIs, JSON, XML, SQL, and related technologies.
Candidates should have good backend-development fundamentals, practical API experience, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to understand data flow between multiple systems.
This is a work-from-office role based in Pune. Regular office timings are 1:00 PM to 10:00 PM IST. Candidates must also be flexible to attend occasional customer calls or support critical integration issues during US business hours.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain integrations between VARStreet and external applications.
- Work with REST APIs, JSON, XML, SOAP services, and webhooks.
- Understand third-party API documentation and implement integration workflows.
- Develop inbound and outbound data synchronization processes.
- Map and transform data between different systems.
- Handle API authentication, validations, errors, retries, and logging.
- Test APIs using Postman or similar tools.
- Write SQL queries to validate data and troubleshoot integration issues.
- Work with Oracle, MySQL, SQL Server, or similar relational databases.
- Investigate integration failures using logs, API responses, and database records.
- Work with scheduled jobs, background services, or message queues where required.
- Coordinate with QA, product, support, customers, and third-party vendors.
- Prepare basic technical documentation and field-mapping documents.
- Use Git for source-code management.
- Support deployed integrations and production issues when required.
Required Skills
- Minimum 2 years of software-development experience.
- Experience in backend development or API integration.
- Hands-on experience with REST APIs.
- Good understanding of HTTP methods, headers, authentication, status codes, and payloads.
- Experience working with JSON and XML.
- Working knowledge of SQL and relational databases.
- Ability to understand and debug existing application code.
- Experience using Postman or a similar API-testing tool.
- Basic knowledge of Git.
- Good understanding of exception handling, logging, and debugging.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Technical Skills
Experience in some of the following technologies will be preferred:
- C#, .NET or .NET Core, ASP.NET Web API, Oracle, MySQL, SQL Server, REST APIs, SOAP APIs, JSON, XML, XSLT, Webhooks, Scheduled jobs, Background services, Message queues
Candidates are not expected to know every technology listed above. Strong backend-development fundamentals and willingness to learn are more important.
Preferred Experience
- Experience with SaaS or B2B applications.
- Experience integrating ERP, accounting, CRM, PSA, procurement, or eCommerce systems.
- Exposure to platforms such as ConnectWise, QuickBooks, Salesforce, NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics, SAP, Oracle ERP, Autotask, or Zoho.
- Experience with customer-specific integrations.
- Basic knowledge of Agile or Scrum methodology.
- Experience supporting production applications or integrations.
AI-Assisted Development Tools
Familiarity with tools such as ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot, or Claude is preferred.
Candidates may use AI tools to:
- Understand API documentation
- Generate sample requests and responses
- Assist with SQL, JSON, XML, or XSLT
- Analyze errors and logs
- Support debugging and documentation
Candidates must still demonstrate strong programming, API, debugging, and problem-solving fundamentals and should not rely solely on AI-generated output.
Customer Calls and Support Requirements
Candidates may occasionally be required to:
- Attend customer or vendor calls during US business hours.
- Participate in technical discussions and troubleshooting sessions.
- Support critical production integration issues outside regular office hours.
- Assist with deployments and post-deployment validation.
- Communicate issue status, impact, and resolution clearly.
