Job Summary
Responsible for safely operating forklifts for loading, unloading, shifting, stacking, and transporting raw materials, metal scrap, finished goods, and other materials within the plant, ensuring safe and efficient material handling operations.
Key Responsibilities
· Operate forklifts safely for loading, unloading, lifting, shifting, and stacking materials within the plant.
· Handle and transport metal scrap, raw materials, finished products, pallets, containers, and other industrial materials.
· Move materials between production areas, storage areas, loading/unloading zones, and designated material handling locations.
· Ensure proper and safe stacking of materials to prevent damage, falling of materials, and obstruction of plant movement.
· Perform pre-operation checks of forklift brakes, tyres, forks, hydraulic systems, horn, lights, and other safety components before starting operations.
· Operate the forklift within the rated load capacity and follow designated routes, speed limits, and plant traffic rules.
· Use a banksman/spotter for guidance during restricted-visibility movements, loading/unloading, and other critical material handling activities.
· Ensure the work area is clear of personnel, vehicles, and obstacles before lifting or moving materials.
· Report forklift breakdowns, equipment defects, unsafe conditions, material damage, accidents, and near misses to the Supervisor immediately.
· Coordinate with Production, Stores, and Maintenance teams for timely and safe movement of materials.
· Follow PPE requirements, safety procedures, 5S practices, housekeeping standards, and all plant SOPs.
· Maintain forklift usage records, operating hours, inspection checklists, and other required documentation.
Candidate Profile
· Qualification: 10th / 12th / ITI or equivalent.
· Experience: 2–3 years of experience as a Forklift Operator in manufacturing, metal processing, foundry, recycling, warehouse, or other industrial environments.
· Valid Forklift Operator License / Certificate preferred.
· Hands-on experience in loading, unloading, stacking, and movement of heavy materials preferred.
· Experience in Metal Recycling, Foundry, Scrap Handling, Heavy Engineering, or Manufacturing environments will be an added advantage.
· Good knowledge of forklift safety, load capacity, safe stacking, material handling procedures, and workplace safety practices.
· Basic knowledge of daily forklift inspection and identification of mechanical or hydraulic abnormalities.
· Ability to coordinate with banksman, production, stores, and maintenance teams during material movement.
· Strong safety awareness, responsibility, teamwork, discipline, and willingness to work in shifts and shop-floor environments.
Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
