Subject Matter Expert (SME) – DPDP/Compliance: Responsible for ensuring that the application and business processes comply with the Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act, 2023, and other applicable privacy and security regulations. The SME will provide guidance on privacy-by-design principles, data governance, consent management, data retention, and risk assessment while working closely with business, development, security, and legal teams. The role includes conducting privacy impact assessments, reviewing system designs for compliance, supporting audits, preparing compliance documentation, identifying regulatory gaps, and ensuring secure handling of personal data throughout the software development lifecycle. Candidates should have 8–12 years of experience in data privacy, compliance, or information security, with strong knowledge of DPDP, ISO 27001/27701, and secure software development practices.
Key ResponsibilitiesDPDP Compliance
- Interpret and implement requirements of the Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act, 2023.
- Ensure privacy-by-design principles are incorporated into application architecture.
- Define policies for collection, processing, storage, sharing, and deletion of personal data.
- Identify lawful basis for processing personal data.
- Ensure consent management mechanisms comply with regulatory requirements.
- Define data retention and deletion policies.
Privacy & Risk Assessment
- Conduct Privacy Impact Assessments (PIA).
- Identify compliance gaps and recommend mitigation strategies.
- Review personal data processing activities.
- Maintain Records of Processing Activities (RoPA).
- Perform privacy risk assessments.
Security & Governance
- Collaborate with Security Experts to ensure implementation of:
- Encryption
- Access control
- Audit logging
- Data masking
- Tokenization
- Review third-party data-sharing agreements.
- Ensure secure handling of sensitive personal data.
Compliance Documentation
- Prepare compliance reports and audit documentation.
- Maintain privacy policies and standard operating procedures.
- Support internal and external compliance audits.
- Assist in regulatory inspections and assessments.
Pay: ₹45,000.00 - ₹60,000.00 per month
