Position: Civil Billing Engineer
Department: Project
Reporting To: Project Manager / Director
Minimum Experience: 5+ Years in Billing in Civil Construction Company
Role Summary:
The Civil Billing Engineer is responsible for preparing, checking, and submitting civil construction bills based on site progress, drawings, measurements, and contractual terms. The role supports smooth cash flow by ensuring accurate billing, documentation, and payment follow-up.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare Running Account (RA) bills, interim bills, final bills, and subcontractor bills.
- Verify site measurements, quantities, and work progress against drawings and BOQ.builtin+1
- Prepare quantity sheets, measurement books, and billing documents.
- Check contractor, vendor, and client bills for accuracy and compliance.
- Track variations, extra items, change orders, and claims for billing inclusion.
- Carry out rate analysis, quantity reconciliation, and material reconciliation.
- Coordinate with site engineers, contractors, clients, and accounts teams for approvals and payments.
- Maintain billing records, work orders, approvals, and supporting documentation for audit and payment tracking.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of civil construction methods, drawings, BOQ, and measurement techniques. Study of IS Codes.
- Good understanding of estimation, rate analysis, and billing procedures.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and MS Word; AutoCAD knowledge is often preferred.
- Ability to work with joint measurements, contract terms, and payment certificates.
- Strong communication, coordination, and documentation skills.
Qualification And Experience
- Diploma or B.E./B.Tech in Civil Engineering.
- Experience in billing, quantity surveying, or site execution in construction/infrastructure projects is preferred.
- Knowledge of contract billing, measurement standards, and reconciliation adds value.
