Overview:
Design Engineer ETO
Responsibilities:
- Execute mechanical design for ETO projects, including 3D CAD modeling, assemblies, and detailed manufacturing drawings using standard CAD tools.
- Perform component selection and mechanical sizing for engineered packages in line with customer specifications, standards, and application requirements.
- Develop and maintain package layouts, GA drawings, BOMs, and fabrication documentation to support manufacturing and assembly.
- Prepare, review, and release mechanical project documentation such as design calculations, datasheets, compliance documents, and as-built records.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional and global teams to meet project schedules, ensure high First Pass Yield (FPY), and achieve On‑Time Delivery (OTD).
Industry Experience: Experience in Process Industries, oil & gas, chemical, power plant or other similar industries as an Instrumentation and Electrical Engineer or similar roles.
Qualifications:
Masters / bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
Essential skills:
- Minimum 4 years of experience in mechanical design for ETO or custom engineered products/ skid mounted packages, preferably in compressors, rotating equipment, or heavy industrial packages.
- Strong expertise in 3D CAD modeling and detailing using CREO/Inventor/NX, including creation of 3D assemblies, 2D drawings, and technical documentation.
- Minimum 4 years of experience in design of casting components, sheet metal, structural fabrications, and packaged equipment layouts, with exposure to compressor or skid‑mounted systems.
- Hands‑on experience with PLM tools (Windchill and/or Teamcenter) for BOM creation, drawing release, and product lifecycle management.
Desired skills:
- Ability to interpret FEA results to support mechanical design decisions.
- Experience with AutoCAD and ERP/PLM‑adjacent systems such as SAP or Oracle for supporting drawings, BOMs, and engineering workflows.
- Knowledge of casting and machining component design, along with preparation and maintenance of Bills of Materials (BOMs).
- Working understanding of international mechanical standards such as ASME, ANSI, DIN, and standard drafting practices.
- Awareness of electric motors, basic instrumentation, and control panel functionality as applicable to packaged compressor or industrial equipment systems.
Experience:
Minimum 4 years of experience in mandatory skills. Maximum 6 years of overall work experience.
