Roles & Responsibilities – Dentist
Examine patients to diagnose and treat dental and oral health conditions.
Consult with patients regarding dental concerns and develop personalized treatment plans.
Perform routine dental procedures, including scaling, polishing, fillings, root canal treatments, and tooth extractions.
Diagnose and correct bite issues, malocclusion, and overcrowding, or refer patients to specialists when required.
Apply preventive treatments such as fluoride applications, dental sealants, and teeth whitening procedures.
Prescribe medications, including antibiotics and pain relievers, as appropriate.
Administer local anesthesia or sedatives before dental procedures when necessary.
Order and interpret diagnostic tests such as dental X-rays, CBCT scans, and dental impressions/models.
Use dental instruments and equipment safely and effectively to examine and treat patients.
Maintain accurate patient records, treatment notes, prescriptions, and follow-up documentation.
Educate patients on oral hygiene, preventive dental care, and post-treatment instructions.
Coordinate with dental assistants, hygienists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure high-quality patient care.
Ensure compliance with infection control protocols, sterilization procedures, and clinical safety standards.
Handle the procurement of dental consumables, instruments, equipment, and other unit requirements by coordinating with vendors and ensuring timely availability of supplies.
Monitor inventory levels of dental materials and maintain adequate stock to support uninterrupted clinical operations.
Assist in maintaining and improving the overall efficiency and quality of the dental unit.
