A Store Assistant manages daily retail or warehouse operations, ensuring smooth inventory control, stock replenishment. They act as the backbone of the shop floor or stockroom, processing transactions, and organizing materials.
You will be responsible for managing daily store operations, maintaining accurate inventory records.
Key Responsibilities
- Inventory Management: Receive, inspect, and store incoming deliveries; verify quantities and report any damages or discrepancies.
- Stock Control: Maintain accurate inward and outward entries, conduct regular stock audits, and assist with periodic inventory counts.
- Sales & Transactions: Process sales transactions accurately using Point of Sale (POS) systems and handle cash or digital payments.
- Store Maintenance: Restock shelves, ensure displays are tidy, and maintain a clean, safe, and organized store environment.
- Department Coordination: Prepare goods for dispatch and coordinate with the purchasing, sales, or production teams to ensure timely material issuance.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor's Degree preferred).
- Experience: 1 - 2 years of experience in retail sales, inventory control
- Skills: Strong organizational skills, basic mathematical proficiency, and familiarity with Point of Sale (POS) software.
- Physical Ability: Ability to stand for extended periods and safely lift/move heavy items.
- Communication: Effective verbal communication skills and a friendly, customer-focused attitude.
