A Senior Plastic Injection Moulding Production Operator must be a highly skilled, hands-on role responsible for setting up, operating, and troubleshooting injection molding machines.
They oversee production runs, optimize machine parameters, conduct mold changeovers, and ensure high-quality finished products with minimal scrap, while maintaining strict shop-floor safety and efficiency.
Machine Setup & Changeovers: Perform complex mold changes, calibrate tooling setups, and input or adjust precise machine parameters (temperature, pressure, cycle time, and injection speed).
Production Operations: Start, monitor, and shut down plastic injection molding machines to meet daily production targets.
Troubleshooting & Defect Analysis: Identify molding defects at the root-cause level—such as flash, short shots, burn marks, warpage, and sink marks—and make immediate mechanical or parameter adjustments.
Quality Control: Perform visual, functional, and dimensional inspections of molded components using measuring instruments like Vernier calipers and micrometers.
Preventive Maintenance: Conduct routine checks, clean nozzles/barrels, and perform minor mechanical repairs to ensure optimal machine uptime and prevent breakdowns.
Documentation: Maintain accurate daily production logs, material reconciliation, equipment downtime records, and quality checklists
Safety & Compliance: Enforce EHS (Environment, Health, and Safety) protocols, Kaizen principles, and 5S workplace organization standards.
