Accounts & Tax ManagerKey Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee Australian accounting and tax compliance work for a portfolio of clients, including individuals, sole traders, companies, trusts, and partnerships.
- Review and supervise the preparation of Business Activity Statements (BAS), Instalment Activity Statements (IAS), GST reconciliations, and other periodic tax compliance work.
- Prepare and review Income Tax Returns for individuals, sole traders, companies, trusts, and partnerships.
- Review work prepared by junior accountants and tax resources, ensuring accuracy, completeness, compliance, and adherence to internal quality standards.
- Identify errors, provide feedback, and guide junior team members on accounting treatments, tax adjustments, workpapers, and compliance requirements.
- Review bank reconciliations, general ledger accounts, trial balances, and accounting records to ensure the accuracy of financial information used for tax reporting.
- Prepare and review financial statements for tax purposes, including Profit & Loss Statements, Balance Sheets, and supporting schedules.
- Review and finalise year-end tax workpapers, tax adjustments, depreciation schedules, reconciliations, and supporting documentation.
- Assist with tax planning and advisory support, including income analysis, deduction reviews, tax adjustments, and identification of potential tax planning opportunities.
- Handle and review ATO correspondence, notices, queries, and follow-ups, and coordinate responses with clients and senior team members where required.
- Communicate directly with clients to obtain financial information, supporting documents, clarifications, and other information required for tax and accounting compliance.
- Ensure all client work is completed accurately and submitted within ATO deadlines and applicable Australian tax legislation and regulations.
- Maintain and review client records and financial data across accounting platforms including Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks, and Reckon.
- Allocate work to junior resources, monitor progress, and ensure timely completion of assigned client jobs.
- Provide ongoing technical and practical guidance to junior accountants and team members.
- Assist in improving internal processes, checklists, workpapers, and quality-control procedures to improve the efficiency and accuracy of the accounting and tax team.
- Work closely with senior management on complex tax matters, client issues, workflow management, and team performance.
Qualifications & Experience
- 5+ years of relevant experience in Australian accounting and business services.
- B.Com / M.Com / CA / ACCA / CPA or equivalent accounting qualification.
- Strong experience in preparing and reviewing Australian Income Tax Returns.
- Good working knowledge of BAS, IAS, GST, tax reconciliations, financial statements, and Australian tax compliance.
- Experience in reviewing work prepared by junior accountants or managing a small accounting/tax team.
- Strong understanding of Australian taxation and ATO compliance requirements.
- Experience with Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks, and Reckon is highly regarded.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.

- Ability to manage multiple clients and deadlines independently while maintaining high-quality work.

Working Conditions
- Working Days: Monday – Friday (5 days)
- Working Hours: 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM
- Work Location: Chandigarh – In Person
Role Expectations
The successful candidate will be expected to take ownership of assigned client portfolios, independently manage accounting and tax compliance work, and act as a reviewing and supervisory resource for junior team members. The role requires a balance of technical accounting and tax knowledge, quality control, client communication, and team leadership.
Pay: ₹70,000.00 - ₹90,000.00 per month
