Job Description: Regional Sales Manager – Energy Sector
Position: Regional Sales Manager
Location: Himachal Pradesh
Experience Level: 5+ years
Key Responsibilities:
Sales & Revenue Management
- Develop and execute regional sales strategies aligned with company objectives.
- Achieve assigned sales, revenue, margin, and market-share targets.
- Prepare annual and quarterly sales plans and maintain an accurate sales pipeline.
- Identify new customers, markets, applications, and revenue opportunities.
- Drive the complete sales cycle from lead generation and qualification through negotiation, order closure, and customer handover.
- Monitor sales performance and take corrective actions to achieve targets.
Business Development
- Develop new business opportunities across the assigned territory.
- Build strong relationships with key decision-makers, consultants, EPC companies, contractors, distributors, utilities, industrial customers, and other relevant stakeholders.
- Identify upcoming projects, tenders, investments, and market developments.
- Develop strategic account plans for key customers.
- Conduct competitor and market analysis to identify growth opportunities.
Customer & Key Account Management
- Maintain strong relationships with existing customers and increase customer retention and share of business.
- Understand customer requirements and coordinate with technical/product teams to develop appropriate solutions.
- Lead commercial negotiations and support contract closure.
- Handle customer escalations and ensure timely resolution of issues.
Team Leadership
- Lead, mentor, and manage the regional sales team.
- Set individual targets and KPIs for team members.
- Conduct regular pipeline reviews, sales meetings, and performance evaluations.
- Coach the team on consultative selling, negotiation, product knowledge, and market development.
- Work closely with pre-sales, technical, marketing, operations, finance, and customer-service teams.
Sales Operations & Reporting
- Maintain accurate CRM records, forecasts, opportunity pipelines, and sales reports.
- Provide regular updates on regional sales performance, market trends, and business opportunities.
- Monitor receivables and support the finance team in timely collections.
- Ensure compliance with company pricing, approval, credit, and sales policies.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Marketing, or a related discipline.
- MBA / PGDM in Sales & Marketing or Business Management is preferred.
- 5+ years of relevant B2B sales experience, preferably within the energy, power, electrical, renewable energy, oil & gas, or industrial sectors.
- Proven experience managing a regional sales territory and achieving revenue targets.
- Experience managing key accounts and complex sales cycles.
- Strong understanding of project-based and solution-oriented selling.
