WordPress Developer
Purpose of the Role
The WordPress Developer is responsible for designing, developing, maintaining, and optimizing WordPress websites that are secure, responsive, and user-friendly. The role involves creating custom themes and plugins, integrating third-party services, ensuring website performance, and collaborating with designers, digital marketers, and clients to deliver high-quality web solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, customize, and maintain WordPress websites.
- Design and implement custom WordPress themes and plugins.
- Convert UI/UX designs (Figma, Adobe XD, PSD) into responsive WordPress websites.
- Build websites using Elementor, WPBakery, Gutenberg, or other page builders.
- Integrate third-party APIs, payment gateways, CRM systems, and marketing tools.
- Optimize website speed, performance, and Core Web Vitals.
- Ensure websites are SEO-friendly and mobile responsive.
- Perform website maintenance, updates, backups, and security enhancements.
- Troubleshoot website issues, bugs, and compatibility problems.
- Configure hosting environments, domains, SSL certificates, and DNS settings.
- Collaborate with graphic designers and digital marketing teams for website improvements.
- Ensure websites comply with accessibility and web standards.
- Test websites across different browsers and devices.
- Maintain proper documentation for projects and code.
- Deliver projects within deadlines while maintaining quality standards.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Relevant certifications in WordPress or web development will be an added advantage.
Experience
- Freshers with strong WordPress skills may apply.
- 1–3 years of experience in WordPress development is preferred.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of WordPress CMS.
- Proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and jQuery.
- Good knowledge of PHP and MySQL.
- Experience with Elementor, Gutenberg, and other page builders.
- Custom theme and plugin development experience.
- WooCommerce development and customization.
- Experience with Git or other version control systems.
- Knowledge of website security best practices.
- Understanding of website performance optimization.
- Familiarity with SEO principles and technical SEO.
- Experience integrating APIs and third-party services.
- Knowledge of cPanel, hosting management, FTP, and DNS.
- Basic understanding of responsive design principles.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with Advanced Custom Fields (ACF).
- Knowledge of Laravel or other PHP frameworks.
- Experience with multilingual websites (WPML, Polylang).
- Familiarity with Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager.
- Knowledge of AI tools and automation for website development.
- Basic understanding of React or modern JavaScript frameworks is an added advantage.
