Job Summary:
The Purchase Manager is responsible for planning, sourcing, and procuring raw materials, consumables, machinery, and services required for manufacturing operations. The role involves vendor development, cost control, inventory coordination, and ensuring timely material availability to support uninterrupted production activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Procure raw materials, packing materials, consumables, spare parts, and machinery as per production requirements.
- Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors.
- Negotiate prices, payment terms, and delivery schedules.
- Prepare purchase orders and monitor material deliveries.
- Coordinate with Production, Stores, Quality, Maintenance, and Finance departments.
- Ensure timely availability of materials to avoid production delays.
- Monitor inventory levels and reduce excess stock.
- Evaluate vendor performance based on quality, cost, and delivery.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and alternative suppliers.
- Ensure purchased materials meet quality standards and specifications.
- Maintain purchase records, invoices, and documentation.
- Follow company procurement policies and statutory compliance.
Required Skills:
