Position: Marine Electrician
Location: Navy Dockyard / Naval Project Sites (Mumbai, Navi Mumbai & other project locations as required)
Employment Type: Full-Time
Salary: ₹25,000 – ₹35,000 per month (Based on experience and skills)
Experience: 2–5 Years
Qualification: Diploma / BE in Electrical Engineering / Marine Electrical Trade
Key Responsibilities
Marine Electrical Maintenance
· Carry out preventive and breakdown maintenance of electrical systems installed on FRP boats and marine crafts.
· Diagnose and rectify electrical faults in onboard equipment and wiring systems.
· Install, repair, and maintain marine electrical panels, switchboards, and distribution systems.
· Perform cable laying, termination, insulation testing, and electrical modifications as required.
AC/DC Power Systems
- Maintain and troubleshoot AC and DC power supply systems.
- Service batteries, battery chargers, inverters, converters, and UPS systems.
- Monitor and maintain onboard electrical load distribution systems.
- Ensure proper functioning of lighting circuits and auxiliary power systems.
DG Sets & Power Generation
- Operate, inspect, and maintain Diesel Generator (DG) Sets.
- Troubleshoot generator electrical control systems and associated equipment.
- Conduct routine testing and performance monitoring of generators.
Navigation & Communication Equipment
a) Assist in maintenance and troubleshooting of:
· GPS Systems
· Echo Sounders
· Navigation Lights
· VHF/UHF Communication Systems
· Marine Antennas
· Radar Support Equipment
· Electronic Monitoring Systems
b) Coordinate with OEM service providers whenever required.
Inspection & Testing
- Conduct insulation resistance tests, continuity tests, battery testing, and electrical safety inspections.
- Maintain records of maintenance, repairs, and inspections.
- Prepare service reports and technical documentation.
Safety & Compliance
- Follow Navy safety procedures and site security protocols.
- Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards and permit-to-work systems.
- Maintain proper housekeeping of tools, equipment, and work areas.
Desired Skills
- Strong knowledge of marine electrical systems.
- Hands-on experience with FRP boats and marine vessels.
- Knowledge of AC/DC circuits and power distribution systems.
- Experience in DG Set maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Understanding of navigation and communication equipment.
- Ability to read electrical drawings and wiring diagrams.
- Good fault-finding and troubleshooting skills.
- Basic computer knowledge for reporting and documentation.
Preferred Experience
- Experience in Navy Dockyard, Shipyard, Coast Guard, Marine Industry, Offshore Projects, Boat Building Industry, or Defence Projects.
- Experience working on FRP boats, patrol boats, rescue boats, or similar marine crafts will be preferred.
Candidate Profile
- Diploma / BE in Electrical with relevant marine experience.
- Physically fit and willing to work onboard vessels and at project sites.
- Capable of working independently with minimum supervision.
- Willing to travel to project locations as required.
