Job Description: Assistant Professor – Finance Management

Reports To: Head of Department / Director / Principal
Location: Prestige Institute of management and Research Bhopal.
Position Summary
The Assistant Professor in Finance Management will be responsible for teaching, research, academic administration, student mentoring, and industry engagement in accordance with the University Grants Commission (UGC) norms and institutional policies. The faculty member is expected to contribute to academic excellence, research output, accreditation activities, and the overall development of students.
Key Responsibilities1. Teaching & Learning
- Teach undergraduate, postgraduate, and other management programs in Finance and related subjects.
- Prepare lesson plans, course files, teaching materials, assignments, and question papers.
- Conduct lectures, tutorials, practical sessions, and student mentoring activities.
- Adopt innovative teaching methodologies, case-based learning, and technology-enabled pedagogy.
- Evaluate student performance through examinations, assignments, projects, and presentations.
2. Research & Publications
- Conduct high-quality research in Finance and Management.
- Publish research papers in UGC-CARE, Scopus, ABDC, or peer-reviewed journals.
- Present research work at national and international conferences.
- Apply for funded research projects, consultancy assignments, and collaborative research initiatives.
3. Student Development
- Guide student projects, internships, dissertations, and research work.
- Mentor students for academic and career development.
- Support placement, entrepreneurship, and industry-connect initiatives.
- Organize workshops, seminars, FDPs, guest lectures, and industrial visits.
4. Academic Administration
- Participate in curriculum development and revision.
- Perform examination duties, admissions, accreditation, and committee responsibilities.
- Maintain academic records, attendance, and departmental documentation.
- Contribute to NAAC, NBA, NIRF, IQAC, and other quality assurance activities.
5. Institutional Responsibilities
- Participate in institutional development activities.
- Comply with UGC regulations, university statutes, and institutional policies.
- Undertake additional academic and administrative responsibilities assigned by the management.
Qualifications (As Per UGC Norms)Essential Qualification
- Master's Degree in MBA (Finance) / M.Com / Finance / Management or equivalent with minimum 65% marks from a recognized University.
- Must have qualified UGC-NET/SET/SLET in the relevant discipline.
OR
- Ph.D. degree in the relevant discipline in accordance with UGC Regulations, with exemption from NET/SLET/SET as applicable under UGC norms.
Desirable Qualification
- Ph.D. in Finance, Commerce, Management, or a related field.
- Professional qualifications such as CA, CMA, CFA, FRM, CFP, or equivalent.
- Research publications in reputed journals.
Experience For Assistant Professor
- Candidates meeting UGC eligibility criteria may apply.
- 2–5 years of teaching, research, or relevant industry experience in Finance, Banking, Accounting, Investment, Taxation, Financial Services, or related areas will be preferred.
Preferred Experience
- Experience in teaching MBA, BBA, B.Com, M.Com, or related management programs.
- Experience in handling accreditation activities such as NAAC, NBA, AACSB, or NIRF.
- Experience in student mentoring, placement coordination, and industry collaborations.
- Experience in research publications, consultancy projects, funded research, or patent filing.
- Practical exposure to financial analysis tools, ERP systems, SPSS, R, Python, Excel, Power BI, Bloomberg Terminal, or similar financial software.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of Finance and Management concepts.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Research and analytical capabilities.
- Ability to integrate industry practices with classroom teaching.
- Strong interpersonal, mentoring, and leadership skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office, Learning Management Systems (LMS), and digital teaching platforms.

- As per UGC norms and institutional policies.

Note: The qualifications, experience, and service conditions shall be governed by the latest UGC regulations and guidelines issued from time to time.
Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
