We are seeking an experienced and result-oriented General Manager to oversee factory operations, production, stores, dispatch, certifications, and inspections for our fire safety systems division. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, product quality, and timely dispatch in line with applicable fire safety standards.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee complete factory operations including production planning, fabrication/assembly, quality control, stores, and dispatch.
- Ensure manufacturing and assembly processes comply with relevant fire safety standards (NBC, IS, UL/FM where applicable).
- Monitor raw material procurement, inventory control, and stock reconciliation.
- Supervise production schedules to ensure timely completion and delivery of orders.
- Coordinate third-party inspections, internal quality audits, and certification processes.
- Ensure readiness for statutory audits, product approvals, and compliance inspections.
- Implement process improvements to enhance productivity, quality, and cost efficiency.
- Lead cross-functional coordination between production, design, sales, and accounts teams.
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols, factory regulations, and statutory compliance.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (MBA in Operations preferred).
- 8–15 years of relevant experience in fire safety systems manufacturing or related industry.
- Strong knowledge of fire protection products such as extinguishers, suppression systems, hydrant/sprinkler components, etc.
- Experience handling inspections, certifications, and quality compliance.
- Proven leadership experience in managing factory teams and operations.
- Strong understanding of inventory control and production planning.
Preferred Qualifications/Skills:
- Experience in IS / BIS certification processes.
- Exposure to UL/FM approval processes (if applicable).
- Knowledge of supply chain optimisation and cost control.
- Strong leadership, decision-making, and team management skills.
