Travel Fleet Manager Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced and responsible Travel Fleet Manager to manage and coordinate our fleet of tourist vehicles, buses, and coaches. The ideal candidate will be responsible for vehicle operations, driver management, scheduling, maintenance coordination, and ensuring smooth and safe transportation services for clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day operations of the company’s travel and transport fleet.
- Plan and allocate vehicles based on tour schedules, client requirements, and operational needs.
- Coordinate with drivers regarding trip schedules, routes, reporting times, and customer requirements.
- Monitor vehicle availability, utilization, servicing, and maintenance schedules.
- Ensure all vehicles are maintained in good operating condition and are ready for assigned trips.
- Coordinate with workshops and service providers for vehicle repairs and preventive maintenance.
- Monitor fuel consumption, mileage, vehicle performance, and operating expenses.
- Maintain records of vehicle documents, insurance, permits, fitness certificates, and other statutory requirements.
- Monitor driver attendance, performance, discipline, and compliance with company policies.
- Handle emergency situations such as vehicle breakdowns, delays, accidents, or route-related issues.
- Arrange replacement vehicles whenever required to avoid disruption to customer services.
- Coordinate with the Tour Operations, Sales, and Travel teams for vehicle requirements and itinerary planning.
- Ensure drivers follow safety standards and provide professional service to customers.
- Track and maintain fleet-related reports, trip sheets, maintenance records, and expense reports.
- Identify opportunities to reduce operational costs and improve fleet efficiency.
- Handle customer complaints related to transportation and take appropriate corrective action.
Requirements
- 2–5 years of experience in Fleet Management, Travel & Tourism, Transport Operations, or a related field.
- Experience managing tourist vehicles, buses, coaches, or commercial vehicles will be an advantage.
- Good knowledge of vehicle operations, maintenance, routes, and driver management.
- Strong communication and coordination skills.
- Good problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Ability to handle multiple trips and operational requirements simultaneously.
- Basic knowledge of MS Office / Excel and fleet management systems.
- Ability to work under pressure and handle emergency situations.
- Valid driving licence is an added advantage.
