Role Purpose
M&E Officer will work closely with Project Lead and be responsible for designing and implementing robust M&E systems to track program performance, ensure data quality and support evidence-based decision-making. In addition, managing the ME function, the role will involve research, documentation and knowledge management activities to enhance organizational learning and visibility
Key Responsibilities
Develop and maintain the project's Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) framework, monitoring plan, indicators, and performance dashboards to track project progress and outcomes.
Orient facilitator for timely data collection & reporting in line with project requirements.
Conduct field visits to project schools to verify the accuracy, authenticity, and reliability of data collected by field teams.
Undertake desk research and collect relevant secondary data from government departments and other credible sources to support project planning, mid-course corrections and evidence-based decision-making.
Compile, analyze, and prepare monthly and quarterly MIS/M&E reports, dashboards, and performance summaries, and share actionable insights with the Project Coordinator (PC) and Project Lead (PL).
Support ME department in designing and implementing M&E frameworks, plans and tools in alignment with program goals and donor requirements
Coordinate impact assessments or evaluations; oversee data collection, analysis and reporting.
Proficiency in data collection, analysis and visualization using tools like Advance Excel, Power BI, looker studio
Experience in designing forms in digital data collection platforms (SurveyCTO, KoboToolBox, ODK or similar platforms)
Collaborate with different verticals in Smile foundation to disseminate findings
Qualifications and Experience
Master’s degree in Social Sciences/ Public Health/ Development Studies/ Economics/ Statistics or related field.
1–3 years of relevant experience in M&E, preferably in the health/education/livelihood sector
30% of the time should be travelling to project areas
Strong knowledge of M&E methodologies, qualitative and quantitative research methods, analysis and data visualization.
Familiarity with managing multiple thematic projects across diverse geographies
Excellent writing skills with demonstrated ability to develop reports, case studies and knowledge products.
