Enterprise Architect
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced and visionary Enterprise Architect to join our Technology team in Manila, Philippines. The Enterprise Architect will be responsible for defining and driving the organization's technology architecture strategy, ensuring alignment between business objectives and IT systems across the enterprise. This is a hands-on leadership role suited for a seasoned professional with deep experience in the insurance or financial services domain, with a strong understanding of regulatory environments, data architecture, integration patterns, and cloud platforms.
Key Responsibilities
Architecture Strategy & Governance
- Define and own the enterprise architecture vision, roadmap, and governance framework across all technology domains — application, data, integration, infrastructure, and security.
- Establish and enforce architecture standards, principles, and guardrails across business units and technology teams.
- Lead the Architecture Review Board (ARB) and ensure all major initiatives align with the target architecture.
- Develop and maintain the EA repository including architecture patterns, reference architectures, and domain models.
Business & Technology Alignment
- Partner with senior business stakeholders and C-suite to translate business strategy into technology architecture decisions.
- Conduct capability mapping and gap analysis to identify technology investment priorities.
- Provide architectural input and oversight across digital transformation, product, and operational excellence programs.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend adoption strategies relevant to insurance and financial services.
Solution Architecture & Design
- Guide and review solution architecture across key initiatives ensuring scalability, security, resilience, and cost efficiency.
- Define integration architecture and API strategy across core insurance platforms, data platforms, and third-party systems.
- Lead cloud architecture strategy — including hybrid and multi-cloud patterns — ensuring alignment with enterprise standards.
- Oversee system decommissioning, rationalization, and modernization of legacy platforms.
Data & Security Architecture
- Define data architecture standards including data flows, data domains, master data, and analytics platform design.
- Collaborate with the Data Governance team to ensure architecture supports data quality, lineage, and compliance requirements.
- Ensure enterprise security architecture aligns with regulatory requirements (e.g., BSP, IC Philippines, GDPR equivalents) and industry best practices.
Stakeholder Engagement & Delivery
- Work closely with Engineering, Product, Risk, Compliance, and Operations teams to drive architecture adoption.
- Mentor and upskill solution architects and senior engineers on enterprise architecture practices.
- Produce clear, executive-ready architecture artefacts — roadmaps, blueprints, decision records, and investment proposals.
- Support vendor evaluation and contract governance from an architectural perspective.
Qualifications & Experience
Mandatory Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in IT architecture roles, with at least 3 years in an Enterprise or Principal Architect capacity.
- Proven experience in the insurance, banking, or broader financial services sector.
- Strong command of enterprise architecture frameworks — TOGAF, Zachman, or equivalent.
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP) and hybrid cloud patterns.
- Deep expertise in integration architecture — APIs, ESB, event-driven patterns, microservices.
- Experience with core insurance platforms (Policy, Claims, Billing, Reinsurance) or equivalent banking systems.
- Availability to join immediately or within a short notice period.
- Must be willing to work onsite in Manila, Philippines.
Preferred Qualifications
- TOGAF 9/10 certified or equivalent EA certification (CISSP, AWS/Azure Solutions Architect, etc.).
- Experience with regulatory frameworks applicable to Philippine insurance or financial services (BSP, IC).
- Exposure to data governance, MDM, or enterprise data platforms.
- Experience in Agile at Scale (SAFe, LeSS) or hybrid delivery environments.
- Familiarity with digital distribution, InsurTech integrations, or open banking APIs.
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field (preferred; Bachelor's acceptable with strong experience).
