3D Technical Artist
3D Technical Artist – Highbrow Interactive | Chennai, India (On-Site, 2–5 Years Experience)
Highbrow Interactive is looking for a skilled and detail-oriented 3D Technical Artist to join our art & development teams in Chennai. If you enjoy solving artistic + technical challenges, optimizing beautiful assets for real-time performance, and contributing to games played by millions, this role is for you.
We build high-quality simulation and tycoon games enjoyed by 100M+ players worldwide, including Bus Masters India Simulator, Indian Train Simulator, Truck Masters World, Rest Stop Tycoon, and more upcoming global titles.
What You’ll Do
- Create, optimize, and integrate 3D assets for mobile simulation and tycoon games
- Ensure assets meet visual, technical, and performance requirements for Unity
- Work on UV mapping, LODs, collision meshes, shaders, and material setups
- Troubleshoot technical art issues related to performance, rendering, lighting, or engine limitations
- Collaborate with programmers and artists to maintain efficient pipelines
- Support production with both low-poly and high-poly modelling, texturing, and basic rigging
- Explore new tools and AI-assisted workflows to improve efficiency
What We’re Looking For
- 2–5 years of experience in a game studio or interactive media environment
- Strong portfolio showcasing modelling, texturing, and asset optimization
- Proficiency in Blender, Substance Painter, Mudbox, Photoshop
- Good understanding of Unity pipelines (import settings, materials, shaders, profiling)
- Knowledge of PBR, real-time rendering, and mobile optimization standards
- Ability to debug visual/technical issues within the engine
- Bonus: Experience with shader graph, rigging, animation, lighting, or profiling tools
- Creative, detail-oriented, and strong problem-solving mindset
