Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical professional to manage compliance and advisory aspects of Direct Taxation. The role involves handling income-tax filings, tax audits, assessments, transfer pricing support, and coordination with internal stakeholders and external consultants to ensure full statutory compliance and effective tax planning.
Key Responsibilities
1. Direct Tax Compliance
- Preparation and filing of Income Tax Returns for companies/clients.
- Computation of advance tax, tax liabilities, and annual tax provisions.
- Handling TDS/TCS compliance, including workings, payments, and quarterly returns.
- Preparation and review of Form 3CD, Form 3CEB, and other statutory filings.
- Maintaining detailed tax workings, documentation, and supporting schedules.
2. Tax Audits, Assessments & Litigation
- Assist in and independently handle tax audits under the Income-tax Act.
- Manage income-tax assessments, reassessments, and scrutiny proceedings.
- Draft and prepare responses to notices and orders under sections such as 143(1), 143(2), 147, 148, 154, 156, etc.
- Handle tax litigation matters, including:
- Preparation of submissions and paper books
- Coordination with counsels for appearances before CIT(A), ITAT, and other tax authorities
- Tracking litigation status and timelines
- Represent or assist in representation before tax authorities, as required.
3. Advisory & Tax Planning
- Research and advise on tax implications of transactions, restructuring, and business operations.
- Support management and clients in tax optimization and planning strategies.
- Monitor changes in tax laws, circulars, and judicial pronouncements and assess their impact.
4. Transfer Pricing (If Applicable)
- Assist in preparation of TP documentation, Local File, and Form 3CEB.
- Coordinate with TP consultants for benchmarking studies and TP audits.
5. Reporting & Internal Controls
- Maintain tax records and working papers for statutory reporting and audits.
- Support statutory, internal, and tax auditors with required information.
- Ensure adherence to internal controls and compliance processes (SOX, where applicable).
Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of the Income-tax Act, Rules, Circulars, and judicial updates.
- Hands-on experience in direct tax compliance and litigation matters.
- Excellent drafting skills for submissions, replies, and legal representations.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and tax software such as Winman, Computax, ClearTax, Tally, etc.
Pay: ₹600,000.00 - ₹1,400,000.00 per year
