We are looking for a result-oriented Business Development Manager (BDM) with strong experience in ERP sales, client acquisition, and institutional business development to drive the sales of our College/University ERP solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive end-to-end sales of College ERP / University ERP solutions to colleges, universities, educational institutions, and higher-education groups.
- Generate, qualify, and convert business opportunities through direct sales, referrals, networking, and assigned leads.
- Conduct ERP product demonstrations, presentations, and solution walkthroughs for prospective clients.
- Understand institutional requirements and map them to appropriate ERP modules and solutions.
- Engage with key stakeholders such as Trustees, Management, Directors, Principals, Vice Chancellors, Registrars, Deans, CFOs, CIOs/IT Heads, and administrative teams.
- Prepare and share commercial proposals, quotations, presentations, and solution documents.
- Manage proposal follow-ups and move prospects through different stages of the sales pipeline.
- Lead commercial negotiations, pricing discussions, and deal closures while ensuring business profitability.
- Coordinate with technical, implementation, product, and support teams for product pilots, POCs, technical discussions, and solution feasibility.
- Organize and conduct client visits, institutional meetings, presentations, workshops, and business development activities.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with colleges and universities to generate repeat business, referrals, and upselling opportunities.
- Work closely with Business Development Executives (BDEs)/Inside Sales teams for lead qualification, opportunity development, and conversion.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date information in the CRM, including leads, opportunities, follow-ups, meetings, proposals, and sales forecasts.
- Prepare regular reports on sales activities, pipeline, client visits, conversions, revenue, and forecasted business.
- Monitor competitor offerings and market trends in the Education ERP / EdTech / SaaS segment.
- Achieve assigned monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets and revenue goals.
Key Requirements
- 5–7 years of experience in direct sales, business development, and client handling.
- Prior experience in ERP, SaaS, IT solutions, EdTech, or software sales is preferred.
- Experience selling solutions to colleges, universities, educational institutions, or large organizations will be a strong advantage.
- Proven track record of meeting/exceeding sales targets and closing high-value deals.
- Strong understanding of the B2B sales cycle, including lead qualification, requirement gathering, presentations, proposals, negotiations, and closure.
- Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and client-management skills.
- Ability to conduct professional product demonstrations and explain complex software solutions in a simple and business-focused manner.
- Strong relationship-building and account-management capabilities.
- Familiarity with CRM tools, sales reporting, pipeline management, and forecasting.
- Ability to understand customer pain points and recommend suitable ERP solutions.
- Self-driven, proactive, target-oriented, and capable of working independently.
- Willingness to travel extensively for client meetings, demos, presentations, institutional visits, and business development activities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in College ERP / University ERP / Education ERP sales.
- Existing relationships with colleges, universities, education groups, or higher-education decision-makers.
- Experience handling enterprise/B2B software sales with longer sales cycles.
- Understanding of SaaS-based ERP deployment, cloud solutions, integrations, and implementation processes.
- Experience managing multiple stakeholders during enterprise sales and procurement processes.
- Strong local/regional market knowledge and institutional network.
