We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented MEP Design Engineer to join our engineering team in Kochi or Madurai. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, coordinating, and delivering Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems for commercial, residential, industrial, and institutional projects. The candidate should possess strong technical expertise, proficiency in design software, and the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed MEP designs, calculations, and drawings in accordance with applicable codes and project specifications.
- Design HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and ELV systems based on project requirements.
- Coordinate with architects, structural engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of MEP services.
- Develop layouts, schematics, single-line diagrams, and technical documentation.
- Perform engineering calculations including load calculations, equipment sizing, voltage drop, hydraulic calculations, and duct/pipe sizing.
- Review consultant drawings and identify design discrepancies or optimization opportunities.
- Ensure compliance with local regulations, safety standards, and international design codes.
- Support project teams during tendering, execution, and commissioning phases by providing technical clarifications.
- Attend design coordination meetings and resolve technical issues.
- Prepare BOQs, material specifications, and technical submittals.
- Maintain project documentation and ensure timely delivery of design milestones.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
- 3–8 years of experience in MEP design for commercial, residential, healthcare, industrial, or infrastructure projects.
- Strong understanding of MEP design standards, codes, and best practices.
- Proficiency in:
- AutoCAD
- Revit MEP (preferred)
- Navisworks (preferred)
- MS Office
- HAP/Carrier E20 (HVAC) or equivalent design software
- Dialux/ETAP (Electrical) – preferred
- Experience in preparing BOQs and engineering calculations.
- Knowledge of BIM coordination is an added advantage.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
