- Diploma / Certification in CSSD Technician Course or related field
- Knowledge of sterilization procedures and infection control practices
- Experience in hospital CSSD operations preferred
Job Summary
The CSSD Technician is responsible for the cleaning, disinfection, sterilization, packing, storage, and distribution of surgical instruments and medical supplies while ensuring compliance with hospital infection control and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform cleaning, decontamination, packing, sterilization, and storage of surgical instruments and medical equipment.
- Operate and monitor sterilization equipment such as autoclaves, ETO, and washer disinfectors.
- Ensure proper labeling, documentation, and tracking of sterile items.
- Inspect instruments for cleanliness, functionality, and damage before sterilization.
- Prepare surgical trays and procedure sets as per departmental requirements.
- Follow infection control protocols and CSSD quality standards at all times.
- Coordinate with Operation Theatre, ICU, wards, and other departments for timely supply of sterile materials.
- Maintain inventory of sterile supplies and report shortages or damages.
- Ensure proper biomedical waste segregation and disposal practices.
- Maintain sterilization records, logs, and equipment maintenance documentation.
Required Skills
- Knowledge of sterilization and infection control procedures
- Familiarity with CSSD equipment and surgical instruments
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work in rotational shifts
Preferred Candidate Profile
- Experience in NABH/JCI accredited hospitals preferred
- Basic computer knowledge will be an added advantage
- Ability to work in a fast-paced hospital environment
Pay: ₹10,000.00 - ₹20,000.00 per month
