Key Responsibilities:
- Reading and interpreting technical drawings and blueprints: Fitter should be able to understand and interpret technical drawings to determine the specifications of components to be constructed.
- Assembling, installing, and maintaining mechanical systems: This includes fitting, joining, and installing various mechanical components according to specifications.
- Troubleshooting and repairing: Identifying and fixing malfunctions in machinery and equipment.
- Using hand and power tools: Employing a variety of tools for cutting, shaping, fitting, and fastening.
- Welding: Utilizing welding equipment to join structural components.
- Inspecting fabricated components: Checking dimensions, tolerances, and specifications of parts.
- Adhering to safety standards: Following all safety protocols and regulations in the workplace.
- Collaborating with other team members: Working with production teams to optimize equipment performance and minimize downtime.
Specific Skills:
- Fitter skills: Including fitting, assembly, and installation of mechanical components.
- Welding skills: Proficiency in various welding techniques.
- Tool and machinery operation: Knowledge and experience in using various hand and power tools, as well as machinery like lathes and CNC machines.
- Problem-solving and analytical skills: Ability to diagnose and resolve issues with machinery and equipment.
- Blueprint reading and interpretation: Understanding and interpreting technical drawings and specifications.
