Job Description: Senior Software Engineer – ESQA (Quality Engineering)
Education & Experience
-
B.Tech / BE / MCA in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

4–6 years of experience in software engineering with a strong focus on quality engineering and test automation.

Solid hands-on experience in Java, with the ability to contribute beyond test automation when required.
Key Responsibilities & Essential Skills
-
Collaborate with product owners, business analysts, architects, and developers to understand business requirements, functional specifications, and technical designs.

Hands-on experience developing and maintaining Java-based test automation and supporting utilities.

Experience with REST Assured for API automation and Playwright using TypeScript and/or Java is mandatory.

Understand existing test automation frameworks and application architecture, and enhance them to support new features and system changes.

Design, develop, and execute manual and automated test cases based on business requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria.

Perform functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end testing for enterprise-grade applications.

Work closely with sprint teams to test sprint stories, analyze changes, and identify regression scenarios suitable for automation.

Perform applicable SDLC activities including requirement analysis, impact assessment, and effort estimation for assigned work items.

Identify, document, and track defects with clear reproduction steps and collaborate with development teams for resolution.

Verify defect fixes and ensure deliverables meet defined quality standards and acceptance criteria.

Participate in test planning, release readiness, and quality discussions.

Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and assist in investigating and resolving issues raised by business users or production support teams.

Participate in production support activities on a rotation basis when required, including issue investigation and coordination to ensure timely resolution.

Demonstrate flexibility to occasionally align with US business hours to support releases, stakeholder interactions, or critical production needs.

Ensure adherence to organizational quality standards, regulatory requirements, and engineering best practices.

Create and maintain test documentation, execution reports, and quality metrics; communicate progress and risks effectively.

Demonstrate ownership, proactive problem-solving, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Provide clear daily and weekly status updates to stakeholders.

Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with cross-functional Agile teams.

Experience working in fast-paced Agile delivery environments.

Relevant certifications such as ISTQB Foundation Level or equivalent, and SAFe Agile certifications.
