We are looking for a skilled Mechanical Fitter to join our engineering manufacturing company. The successful candidate will be responsible for assembling, installing, and maintaining various mechanical components and machinery used in our production operations.
Key Responsibilities:
· Machine Assembly & Installation:
- Assemble, install, and align machinery parts and components based on blueprints, technical drawings, and instructions.
- Perform accurate fitting and alignment of machine components using tools like micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
- Conduct test runs and troubleshoot any issues to ensure that machinery is set up and functioning correctly.
· Maintenance & Repairs:
- Inspect, diagnose, and repair mechanical issues in machinery, ensuring minimal production downtime.
- Perform preventive maintenance tasks such as lubricating, tightening, and replacing parts to extend machine life and improve reliability.
- Coordinate with the maintenance team to handle complex repairs and ensure compliance with safety standards.
· Quality & Precision:
- Maintain high levels of accuracy and quality when working with machine parts and components.
- Use precision measuring instruments to check dimensions and tolerances of parts, ensuring they meet specifications.
- Report any quality or component discrepancies to the supervisor and assist in corrective actions.
· Safety & Compliance:
- Adhere to safety protocols and wear the appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) while working with machinery.
- Conduct safety inspections of machinery and equipment to identify potential hazards or issues.
- Keep work areas clean and organized, complying with company policies and regulatory requirements.
· Documentation & Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of completed tasks, repairs, and adjustments in maintenance logs or digital systems.
- Report machinery issues or breakdowns to the supervisor and suggest improvements for machine performance.
- Assist in tracking parts inventory and requisitioning materials as needed.
· Collaborate with Team Members:
- Work closely with other fitters, engineers, and maintenance personnel to ensure efficient and effective machine operation.
- Provide support during machine setup and testing phases for production projects.
- Participate in training sessions and share knowledge to improve team skills.
Qualifications & Skills:
- ITI/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Fitting, or a related technical field.
- Minimum of 2-3 years in fitting and assembly within an engineering or manufacturing environment.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings and schematics.
- Knowledge of machining, mechanical systems, and hydraulic/pneumatic components.
- Ability to use precision measuring instruments (e.g., micrometers, calipers) with high accuracy.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Physical ability to handle machinery parts and work in a manufacturing setting.
