We are seeking a driven and commercially minded Business Development Manager to support and accelerate the growth of our Japanese anime licensing business in India and South Asia. This role will play a key part in identifying new business opportunities, supporting and negotiating licensing deals with media partners and streaming platforms, and expanding our market presence across the region.
The ideal candidate will bring experience in licensing, sales administration, or business development, combined with a strong understanding of the anime ecosystem and the Indian entertainment and streaming market. A passion for Japanese anime and cultural sensitivity to South Asian business practices are essential.
Key Responsibilities
Anime Licensing & Business Negotiations
- Support and participate in business negotiations with media companies, anime distributors, broadcasters, and streaming platforms across India and South Asian countries.
- Assist in exploring new licensing and collaboration opportunities, including content distribution, partnerships, and regional expansions.
- Coordinate closely with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment on licensing terms and commercial objectives.
Market Development & Research
- Conduct market research and data analysis on South Asian media, animation, and streaming markets.
- Track industry trends, competitor activity, platform strategies, and audience preferences relevant to Japanese anime.
- Prepare market insights and reports to support strategic decision-making.
Business Opportunity Development & Client Relationship Management
- Proactively identify potential clients and partners, supporting outreach and follow-up activities.
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with existing and new clients, ensuring smooth communication and ongoing collaboration.
- Support account management activities to strengthen partnerships and drive repeat business.
Business Document & Contract Management
- Prepare, organize, and manage business documents, proposals, presentations, and licensing contracts related to media and animation projects.
- Coordinate contract workflows, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and smooth internal approvals.
- Maintain structured records and documentation to support efficient business operations.
Marketing Event Coordination & Promotion
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (marketing, PR, operations) to plan and execute marketing campaigns, events, and promotions related to anime and media properties.
- Support participation in industry events, trade shows, festivals, and promotional activities to enhance brand visibility in the region.
- Assist in coordinating materials, schedules, and partner communications for events and campaigns.
Qualifications & SkillsMarket & Industry Knowledge
- Strong understanding of the Indian and South Asian media, entertainment, and streaming ecosystem.
- Familiarity with anime licensing, content distribution, or media partnerships is highly preferred.
Passion for Japanese Anime
- Demonstrated interest, passion, and insight into the Japanese anime industry, including content trends and fan communities.
Sales, Project Management & Communication
- Solid sales administration, coordination, or business development skills.
- Strong project execution abilities with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively across teams and stakeholders.
Language Proficiency
- Fluent in English (written and spoken).
- Knowledge of Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, or other regional languages is a strong advantage.
Cultural Adaptability
- High level of cultural awareness and adaptability, particularly in navigating South Asian business practices and cross-cultural collaborations.

Pay: ₹50,000.00 - ₹80,000.00 per month
