Job Summary
The Radiology Technician is responsible for performing diagnostic X-ray examinations and assisting in Ultrasound services while ensuring patient safety, image quality, and compliance with radiation safety standards. The technician will also perform TMT, ECHO, PFT, and Audiometry procedures as per physician instructions and organizational protocols.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform Digital X-ray examinations as prescribed by physicians.
- Prepare and position patients correctly for X-ray procedures.
- Ensure radiation safety practices are followed at all times.
- Operate, maintain, and perform routine quality checks on X-ray equipment.
- Assist the Radiologist during Ultrasound examinations.
- Prepare patients for Ultrasound procedures and maintain examination records.
- Perform Treadmill Test (TMT) as per standard protocols under physician supervision.
- Conduct 2D Echocardiography (ECHO) examinations as trained and assigned.
- Perform Pulmonary Function Test (PFT) and ensure proper patient instruction for accurate results.
- Conduct Audiometry testing following standard procedures.
- Verify patient identity and examination requests before every procedure.
- Maintain accurate documentation and upload reports/images into the hospital information system.
- Ensure cleanliness and readiness of all imaging and diagnostic equipment.
- Coordinate with doctors, nursing staff, and front office for smooth patient flow.
- Report equipment malfunctions promptly and coordinate preventive maintenance.
- Follow infection control, patient confidentiality, and safety protocols.
- Adhere to all organizational SOPs and quality standards.
Qualification
- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Radiology/Medical Imaging Technology.
Experience
- Experience in Digital X-ray is mandatory.
- Experience in assisting Ultrasound and performing TMT, ECHO, PFT, and Audiometry will be preferred.
Skills Required
- Sound knowledge of radiographic positioning and radiation safety.
- Ability to operate Digital X-ray equipment efficiently.
- Knowledge of Ultrasound assistance and non-invasive diagnostic procedures.
- Good communication and patient handling skills.
- Basic computer knowledge and documentation skills.
- Strong teamwork and organizational abilities.
