Job Summary
The PVD Machine Operator is responsible for operating PVD coating machines, handling loading and unloading of parts, monitoring process parameters, and ensuring coating quality as per customer and production requirements.

Key Responsibilities
Machine Operation
- Operate PVD coating machines (Arc, Sputtering, or Hybrid systems).
- Perform loading and unloading of components on jigs/fixtures.
- Set basic process parameters as per SOP (temperature, vacuum, gas flow, time).
- Start, monitor, and complete coating cycles safely.
Quality & Process Control
- Inspect coated parts for color, uniformity, adhesion, and surface defects.
- Follow coating recipes and work instructions strictly.
- Identify defects such as peeling, discoloration, pinholes, or uneven coating.
- Inform supervisor immediately in case of process deviation or quality issues.
Maintenance & Housekeeping
- Perform daily machine cleaning and basic preventive maintenance.
- Check cathodes, targets, fixtures, and consumables before and after cycles.
- Maintain proper housekeeping around the machine and work area.
- Report machine breakdowns or abnormal sounds, vacuum leaks, or alarms.
Safety & Compliance
- Follow all safety rules, PPE usage, and EHS guidelines.
- Handle chemicals, gases, and tools safely as per instructions.
- Ensure proper documentation of batch records and machine logs.
Documentation & Coordination
- Fill production records, batch cards, and shift logs accurately.
- Coordinate with quality, maintenance, and PPC teams.
- Support trial runs and new coating development when required.

Required Skills & Qualifications
- ITI / Diploma (Mechanical / Electrical / Production) preferred.
- 1–3 years of experience as a PVD operator or similar coating process.
- Basic knowledge of vacuum systems and coating processes.
- Ability to read and follow SOPs and work instructions.
- Willingness to work in shifts.
