Purpose of the job (Summary)
In charge of plantation Department. Management of all agricultural aspects (nurseries,
development, harvesting, maintenance). Responsible for the development of the plantations:
extensions and replanting, organizing of the crop transport to the factory, Maintenance of
roads, bridges budget and cost control. Overall responsibility (management, training,
guidance) of the plantation department.
Key Accountabilities/Duties & Responsibilities:
v Oversees the daily operations of the estate – be responsible for the human capital development, asset utilization and preservation and operational performance.
v Inspecting the plantations and prepare submission written report after each visit detailing the state and conditions of all aspects of the estate together with necessary recommendation.
v Provide recommendations on all agricultural aspects of the development and operation of the estates conformance to best developed practices.
v Ensure all plantations are within the framework of Environment policies and responsibilities.
v Ensure all work operations in safe and responsible manner
v Planning and managing estate budget to ensure operating expenses and profitability are maximized.
v Build relationship with key stakeholders and also local government and community around the estate.
v Expertise in development of Landscape development work.
v Good Knowledge of trees plantation, gardening floriculture, etc.
v Day to day maintenance & up keeping of the estate.
v Sound knowledge of horticulture.
v Purchase of right fertilizers, overseeing the harvesting of the crops during the harvest season, Market study on product and prices
v Responsible for development of Plantations – Extension and Replanting
v Understanding Horticulture drawings and ensuring execution of the work.
v Supervising gardeners for their work and ensuring quality of the same.
v Landscape development & maintenance work According to drawing.
v Preparation & submission of reports on Plants inventory, reconciliation & tracking of procurement.
v Coordination, motivating, developing and directing people as they work, identifying the best people for the job.
v Any other duties delegated by the CEO and General Manager.
