This Position reports to:
Senior Field Service Engineer
Your role and responsibilities:
In this role, you will have the opportunity to execute service work with low to medium complexity as per work instructions and in accordance with ABB standard processes, quality standards, and safety guidelines. Each day, you will plan and execute work on a first-time right approach with customers. You will also showcase your ability by displaying a clear understanding of care in your own area of responsibility.

This role is contributing to the Automation – Energy division in Mumbai- India region.
You will be mainly accountable for:
Performing onsite service of ABB System 800xA including preventive and breakdown maintenance, ensuring optimum performance, quick fault resolution, and improved system reliability.
Executing service work per customer expectations, maintaining positive relationships, identifying sales opportunities, and supporting system upkeep with upgrades and optimizations.
Preparing and maintaining maintenance checklists, activity lists, SOPs, and backup/recovery procedures.
Detecting potential failures, diagnosing and fixing hardware/software issues, collaborating with colleagues, and documenting learnings and best practices.
Suggesting product, quality, and service improvements and discussing them with management.
Ensuring high HSE standards, eliminating unsafe practices, and adhering to safety procedures at customer sites.
Qualifications for the role:
Diploma B.E/B.Tech in Electrical, Electronics, or Instrumentation Engineering or similar field.
3–6 years of experience in Industrial Automation (DCS/PLC) with field service/commissioning in Power, Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, or large industrial plants.
Minimum 2 years of programming, testing, and commissioning experience in ABB System 800xA; knowledge of AC500, Freelance, Advant AC450, or MOD300 is advantageous.
Experience with communication interfaces such as Profibus, Modbus, OPC, IEC61850.
Exposure to cybersecurity solutions, virtualization, and digital solutions is an added advantage.
Resident engineer position based at customer location.
