Job Description:
The Sourcing Specialist is the operational backbone of the sourcing function, executing sourcing engagements across all indirect spend categories with a high degree of competence and autonomy. Operating within a fast-paced, Private Equity (PE) backed, global technology environment, this role manages sourcing projects from market analysis through evaluation and recommendation, conducts commercial negotiations directly with vendors, and interprets data to draw conclusions and make recommendations to the Sourcing Lead. The role requires the ability to work across international vendors, multi-currency pricing, and cross-border contracting. This is a senior execution role for someone ready to deliver outcomes, not just outputs.
- Execute end-to-end sourcing projects across all indirect spend categories as assigned by the Sourcing Lead, including SaaS, software licensing, IT services, professional services, marketing, facilities, and corporate services
- Recommend evaluation criteria based on the nature and category of services, prepare and coordinate the RFx process using the Coupa Sourcing Module or bespoke frameworks, and produce sourcing recommendations for the Sourcing Lead’s review and approval
- Build bespoke evaluation models and weighted scoring frameworks for complex engagements where the standard eProcurement module is not fit for purpose; build and maintain evaluation workbooks, pricing models, and commercial comparison tools across all sourcing engagements
- Develop evaluation workbooks, TCO models, and multi-scenario pricing comparisons; conduct and interpret market benchmarking analyses across domestic and international vendors, drawing actionable conclusions
- Perform should-cost analysis and spend analysis across vendor portfolios, identifying consolidation opportunities, pricing anomalies, and negotiation levers
- Contribute to category strategy by providing market intelligence, spend analysis, supplier landscape assessments, and contract expiry profiles for the Sourcing Lead’s consideration; monitor category trends and emerging risks
- Review vendor contracts (MSAs, SOWs, Order Forms, Amendments), identify commercial concerns, and propose redline positions for the Sourcing Lead’s validation
- Conduct commercial negotiations directly with vendors on assigned engagements, operating within the negotiation strategy established by the Sourcing Lead; escalate where vendor positions deviate materially from agreed parameters
- Support the development of negotiation strategies by preparing options, data, scenario analyses, and market context for the Sourcing Lead’s consideration
- Manage contract renewal cycles including market alternative assessment and renewal analyses; challenge demand and right-size scope as inherent to the sourcing process
- Execute tail spend reduction strategies including vendor aggregation, consolidation, and preferred supplier channelling; convert unmanaged tail spend into managed categories with negotiated terms and defined service levels
- Prioritise tail spend interventions by value opportunity; track and report savings delivery, coverage progress, and consolidation outcomes
- Prepare QBR inputs — analyse vendor performance trends, flag concerns, and compile recommendations for the Sourcing Lead’s review; monitor supplier performance and coordinate with stakeholders on delivery or commercial issues
- Validate savings methodology and confirm savings with stakeholders; develop and maintain sourcing dashboards providing actionable visibility into pipeline, savings, and category performance
- Identify and recommend process improvements across sourcing workflows and tools; document sourcing methodologies to support a scalable operating model
- Coordinate with Legal, Finance, HR, and business owners to ensure sourcing activities align with business requirements and governance standards; prepare briefing materials supporting the Sourcing Lead’s engagement with senior leadership
- Undertake any other responsibilities as assigned to support team objectives and function progression
- Complete onboarding to insightsoftware’s sourcing tools, vendor landscape, and governance framework within the first 60 days
- Independently execute end-to-end sourcing projects, delivering evaluation, recommendation, and commercial outcomes
- Conduct commercial negotiations directly with vendors, delivering measurable savings or value outcomes
- Actively manage assigned tail spend categories, converting unmanaged spend into managed engagements with negotiated terms and measurable savings
- Deliver benchmarking analyses with clear interpretation and actionable recommendations; contribute to category strategy development
- Demonstrate the ability to review vendor contracts, identify commercial concerns, and propose redline positions that hold up under Sourcing Lead and Legal review
- Establish trusted working relationships with key cross-functional stakeholders across Finance, Legal, HR, and business teams, positioning procurement as a valued business partner
- Commercial negotiation capability — proven ability to conduct vendor negotiations, secure favourable terms, and manage counterparty dynamics
- Contract review and redlining — ability to identify commercial concerns and propose redline positions on MSAs, SOWs, and Order Forms
- Spend and pricing analysis with strong financial acumen; ability to interpret data, not just compile it
- Evaluation model development including weighted scoring frameworks, TCO models, and commercial comparison tools
- RFx process management — end-to-end experience coordinating and evaluating structured sourcing events; category analysis capability
- Advanced Microsoft Excel including complex modelling and scenario analysis; dashboard development (Excel, Power BI, or equivalent)
- Strong written and verbal communication across Legal, Finance, HR, and other internal and external stakeholders
- Preferred: exposure to eProcurement platforms (Coupa, Ariba, Zycus, or similar); experience in one or more indirect spend categories including SaaS, software licensing, IT services, professional services, or corporate services; international vendors and multi-currency pricing; experience in a PE-backed or high-growth technology environment
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline
- 8–10 years of progressive experience in strategic sourcing; SaaS and software licensing experience strongly preferred
- Track record of conducting commercial negotiations and delivering measurable savings or value outcomes
- Experience in a global technology company, PE-backed environment, or shared services setting is an advantage; professional certification (e.g., CIPS, CPSM) preferred but not mandatory
