Qualification
- Bachelor's Degree in History, Geography, Political Science, Economics, or a related Social Science discipline.
- B.Ed. from a recognized institution (mandatory).
- CTET/STET qualified (preferred, as applicable).
- Qualifications must comply with CBSE Affiliation Bye-Laws, NCTE regulations, and applicable State Government norms.
Experience
- Minimum 2 years of teaching experience in a CBSE school (preferred).
- Freshers with excellent subject knowledge and teaching skills may also apply.
Key ResponsibilitiesAcademic Responsibilities
- Teach Social Science to Classes VI–X in accordance with the CBSE curriculum.
- Prepare annual plans, lesson plans, worksheets, assignments, and question papers.
- Deliver competency-based, experiential, and inquiry-based learning experiences.
- Integrate ICT tools, maps, case studies, current affairs, and project-based learning into classroom teaching.
- Encourage critical thinking, constitutional values, environmental awareness, and global citizenship.
- Complete the prescribed syllabus within the academic calendar.
Assessment & Evaluation
- Conduct formative and summative assessments as per CBSE guidelines.
- Prepare competency-based question papers and maintain student assessment records.
- Analyze student performance and provide remedial support where required.
- Maintain portfolios, progress reports, and academic documentation.
Classroom Management
- Maintain a positive, disciplined, and inclusive classroom environment.
- Ensure student safety, participation, and respectful behavior.
- Promote collaborative learning and active classroom engagement.
Student Development
- Mentor students academically and personally.
- Prepare students for quizzes, exhibitions, debates, Olympiads, heritage activities, and other CBSE initiatives.
- Foster leadership, communication, and social responsibility.
Parent Communication
- Attend Parent-Teacher Meetings (PTMs).
- Provide timely feedback on academic progress, attendance, and student development.
- Work collaboratively with parents to support student success.
Administrative Responsibilities
- Maintain attendance, teacher diary, lesson records, and assessment records.
- Participate in school assemblies, examinations, admissions, invigilation, and other assigned duties.
- Support school events, educational trips, celebrations, and co-curricular activities.
Professional Expectations
- Attend mandatory CBSE capacity-building programmes, workshops, and professional development activities.
- Stay updated with NEP 2020, CBSE circulars, competency-based education, and innovative pedagogical practices.
- Follow school policies, child protection guidelines, and professional ethics.
Skills Required
- Strong subject knowledge in History, Geography, Civics, and Economics.
- Excellent communication skills in English (Hindi proficiency preferred).
- Effective classroom management and student engagement.
- Proficiency in MS Office, Google Workspace, Smart Boards, and educational technology.
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
