Position: System Administrator – VFX Infrastructure

Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced System Administrator with strong expertise in managing
Linux and Windows environments within a VFX/Animation production studio. The ideal
candidate should have hands-on experience supporting artists, render farms, production
pipelines, storage systems, and high-performance infrastructure used in VFX workflows.
The role requires strong troubleshooting skills, infrastructure management experience,
and the ability to maintain stable and high-performance systems for production
environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain Linux and Windows systems used in VFX production environments.
- Support artist workstations, render nodes, production servers, and storage infrastructure.
- Manage user accounts, permissions, shared storage, and network resources.
- Monitor system performance and ensure maximum uptime for production-critical services.
- Handle OS patching, software deployment, and system security updates.
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, licensing, and network-related issues affecting production.
- Support render farm infrastructure and queue management systems.
- Maintain centralized storage systems and ensure high-speed data accessibility.
- Assist with backup, archival, and disaster recovery procedures.
- Support virtualization and infrastructure automation activities.
- Coordinate with pipeline, production, and CG teams for technical support.
- Maintain documentation for infrastructure and operational procedures.

Operating Systems
- Strong administration experience with:
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux
- Rocky Linux
- Ubuntu
- Microsoft Windows Server
VFX Infrastructure Experience
- Experience supporting VFX/Animation production environments.
- Knowledge of: Render farms, Shared storage workflows, High-speed file transfer, GPU workstations, Artist production environments
- Familiarity with production tools and license management systems.
Networking
- Good understanding of: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, Firewall basics, Network troubleshooting
Storage
- Basic to intermediate knowledge of:
- SAN/NAS storage
- RAID concepts
- Storage performance tuning
- Backup and archival solutions
- Exposure to enterprise storage platforms such as:
- NetApp
Virtualization & Automation
- VMware vSphere
- Shell scripting (Bash/PowerShell)
- Basic automation tools
Preferred Skills
- Experience with render management tools such as: Thinkbox Deadline
- Familiarity with VFX applications and supporting infrastructure: Autodesk Maya, Houdini, Nuke
- Knowledge of GPU-based rendering workflows.
- Exposure to cloud or hybrid rendering infrastructure.
Educational Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- Relevant certifications are an added advantage: RHCSA / RHCE, VMware certifications, Networking certifications
Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹45,000.00 per month
